Beach to order at 7:30 01clock P.M. The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all Present in the Council Chamber. The Invocation was given by Bernard Gage, Minister of Visitation, First Methodist Church, Huntington Beach. Councilmen Present: Wells, Gisler, Stewart, Welch, Lambert. Councilmen Absent. Beach $ 67,925.00 Mayne & Associates - Cosh mesa 1 64,900.00 Low Kc;dcr The Clerk read a. letter from Jordan & Endsley, Karr• r & Denner Architects for the City, stating that the bids bad been examined and the low bid of Harris & Denner of Tustin in the amount of 160,450.00 had been found to be in order; and recommending that the contract be awarded to Harris & Denner. Conuract Awarded On mention by Stewa.,rt, seconded by Gisler, Harris & Dennaz Council awarded the contract for the con- struction of the Bushard Fire Station to Harris & Denner of Tustin, on the bid of $60,450.00; rejected all other bids, and authorized the return of hid bonds to the unsuccess- ful bidders upon execution of the contract. Council approved the change order to the plans and specifications and directed Jordan. & Endsl.ey to proceed with the alterations on the Headquarters Fire Station. Motion carried. Mr. Jordan - Add. exists under another dock to remedy that situation be approximately the same Mr. Jordan then informed the Council that an inspection of the premises made during the day had revealed that a similar condition and recommended that Council tape action at this time and that the cost involved would as for the previous item. Alteration Re(. On motion by Welch, seconded by Gisler, Council authorized the additional expenditure necessary to correct the faulty concrete under the second dock, and directed the architects to proceed with said change. Granted Council granted permission to the Ocean View Little League Auxiliary to sell candy in a northerly section of. the City from December 2nd thru December 14th, for the benefit of Little League. Motion carried. ALSAC Rco. 'L'o On motion by Welch, seconded by Gisler, Council granted permission to the Los Angeles Chapter of ALSAC (Aiding Leukemia Stricken American Children), to solicit funds in the City on Sunday afternoon, December 15, 1-963, subject to the solicitors requesting with the Police Department. On motion by Welch, seconded by Gisler, Re . -Gra---ited Council granted permission to the Arthritis & Rheumatism Foundation, Southern California Chapter to solicit funds in the City during the week of February 2, 1964, subject to the solicitors reistering with the Police Department. On motion by Welch, seconded by Stewart, Hall - Gr,IIiated Council L-ranted the Firemen's Benevolent Association of Huntington Beach permission to use Memorial Hall on December 16, 1963, for the annual Christmas Dinner Party for families of members, and directed the Clerk to waive the fees therefor. Pali - Granted Council granted Mrs. Jean Turner the use of Memorial Hall on Sunday, December 15, 1963 for the annual "queen for a Day" Christmas Party, and directed the City Clerk to waive the fees therefor. Sell On motion by Welsh, seconded by Gisler, At Parade - Granted Council granted permission to the Kiwanis Club of Huntington Beach to sell reiresn-- ments at the annual Christmas Parade on December 6, 1963.
