Monday, November 18, 1963
Mayor Lambert called the regular meeting of
the City Council of -the City of Huntington. Beach to order at 7:30
01clock P.M.
The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all
Present in the Council Chamber.
The Invocation was given by Bernard Gage,
Minister of Visitation, First Methodist Church, Huntington Beach.
Councilmen Present: Wells, Gisler, Stewart, Welch, Lambert.

Low Kc;dcr The Clerk read a. letter from Jordan & Endsley,
Karr• r & Denner Architects for the City, stating that the
bids bad been examined and the low bid of
Harris & Denner of Tustin in the amount of 160,450.00 had been found
to be in order; and recommending that the contract be awarded to
Harris & Denner.
Conuract Awarded On mention by Stewa.,rt, seconded by Gisler,
Harris & Dennaz Council awarded the contract for the con-
struction of the Bushard Fire Station to
Harris & Denner of Tustin, on the bid of $60,450.00; rejected all
other bids, and authorized the return of hid bonds to the unsuccess-
ful bidders upon execution of the contract. Motion carried.

under a dock at the Lake Street Fire Station:
which would require a change order for an additional $1,611.92 in
addition to the contract amount of $151,953.00 for the alterations.

Council authorized the additional expenditure

under the second dock, and directed the architects to proceed with

Aux. ijeq. Granted Council granted permission to the Ocean
View Little League Auxiliary to sell candy
in a northerly section of. the City from December 2nd thru December
14th, for the benefit of Little League. Motion carried.
ALSAC Rco. 'L'o On motion by Welch, seconded by Gisler,
Council granted permission to the Los
Angeles Chapter of ALSAC (Aiding Leukemia
Stricken American Children), to solicit funds in the City on Sunday
afternoon, December 15, 1-963, subject to the solicitors requesting
with the Police Department. Motion carried.
Artb. & Rheum. Yound. On motion by Welch, seconded by Gisler,
Re . -Gra---ited Council granted permission to the Arthritis
& Rheumatism Foundation, Southern California
Chapter to solicit funds in the City during the week of February 2,
1964, subject to the solicitors reistering with the Police Department.

Fi_r-c-:faea Reef.. NEcc.i. On motion by Welch, seconded by Stewart,
Hall - Gr,IIiated Council L-ranted the Firemen's Benevolent
Association of Huntington Beach permission
to use Memorial Hall on December 16, 1963, for the annual Christmas
Dinner Party for families of members, and directed the Clerk to
waive the fees therefor. Motion carried.

of Memorial Hall on Sunday, December 15,

At Parade - Granted Council granted permission to the Kiwanis
Club of Huntington Beach to sell reiresn--
ments at the annual Christmas Parade on December 6, 1963. Motion
carried.

Referred to DP14 the request from Mr. Harold T. Odmark,
483 Jasmine Street, Laguna Beach, for
Council consideration of participation in a sewer main extension,
was referred to the Director of Public Works for study and report
to Council. Motion carried.

Branch of the Sank of America that they be
named a depository for City funds, was referred to the Finance

October 31, 1963, setting the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., or as soon
thereafter as possible, on Monday, the 18th day of November, 1.963,

as the time and place for a public --hearing for the purpose of con-
sidering a petition for changes of zone as follows:
1. From R-2-0 Two Family Residence District and M-2-0 Heavy
Industrial District, to: R-3-0 Limited Multiple Family.
Residence District, on property located between Adams Avenue
and Rochester Avenue, from Alabama Street to Florida Street.
2. From M-2-0 Heavy Industrial District to R-2-0 Two Family
Residence District, on property located between Rochester
Avenue and Yorktown Avenue, from Alabama Street to Florida
Street.

addressed the Council to inform them that
his Company has a Use Variance on the property at the southwest
corner of Utica Avenue and to protest the charge of zone from: C-4.

City, addressed the Council and stated that
he was in favor of the change of zone.

on the matter, and there being no further
protests filed, either oral or written, the hearing was closed by
the Mayor.

Council and gave them a resume' of the Plan-
ning Commission's reasons for recommending approval of portions of
this Zane Case rather than the entire Zone Case.
