The Clerk read the call for special meeting Meeting Read which had been received by and given consent to by at least three members of the City Council prior to 8:30 o'clock A.M.,on Thursday, January 9, 1964, for the purpose of ordering public hearings on an appeal to a decision of the City Planning Commission in postponing action on Zone Case No. 404, and the denial by the City Planning Commission of Zone Case No. 406. CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING OF CITY COUNCILMEN Robert M. Lambert, Mayor Ernest H. Gisler, Councilman Lyndon A. Wells, Councilman Jake R. Stewart, Councilman Thomas H. Appeals Mayor Lambert informed the Council that the to PI. Comral Dec. special meeting had been called to discuss certain appeals which had been filed to decisions of the City Planning Commission in regard to Zone Case No. 404 and No. 406, and requested the Clerk to present the appeals. Deane Bros, The Clerk read a communication from. Deane Appeal Brothers appealing the decision of the Plan- ning Commission in postponing action on Zone Case No. 404, and requesting that the Council give an affirma- tive vote and approve Zone Case No. 404. The Clerk informed the Council that the fee required for the filing of an appeal had been paid. Ja.«es_ F. Deane Mr. James F. Deane, representing Deane Brothers, addressed the Council and request- ed that they consider the appeal. He was informed by Mayor Lambert that the only action which could be taken at the Special Meeting would be the ordering of a public hearing on the matter, and that any other information presented would be out of order. Hearin Ordered Appeal. On motion by Welch, seconded by Stewart, On Z.C. N'o. 4 '14 � Council ordered a public hearing for Monday, the 20th day of January, 1964, on an appeal to a decision of the City Planning Commission in postponing action on Zone Case No. 404, and directed the Clerk to publish notice of same. Motion carried. III, Dir. The Clerk read a transmittal from the Plan- Z.C. No. 40"' ning Director of Pesolution No. 406 of the City Planning Commission recommending denial of Zone Case No. 406, covering pre -zoning on property located at the Southwest corner of Bolsa Chica Street and Pearce ,Avenue, a private street, from R-4 Suburban Residential District (County) to C-2 Community Business District (City), with setback provisions. A`-�';1>uw-1'; I.] The Clerk then read an appeal from Mr. & Mrs. Stanford W. Atwood and Mr. & Mrs. J. Stanley Fuller to a decision of the City Planning Commission in recommending denial of Zone Case No. 406; and informed the Council that the required fee for the filing of an appeal had been paid. i earii:q� C,:uere: Appeal_ On motion by Stewart, seconded by Gisler., on Z.C. No. 406 Council ordered a public hearing for Monday, January 20, 1964 on an appeal to a recom- mendation of denial by the City Planning Commission of Zone Case No. 406, and directed the Clerk to publish notice of same.
