Mayor Lambert called the regular adjourned
Council of the City of Huntington Beach to order
The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all
present in the Council Chamber.
Councilmen Present: Wells, Stewart, Welch, Lambert
Councilmen Absent: Gisler
DEEDS ACCEPTED_ The Clerk presented transmittals from the
Director of Public Works of deeds as
follows:
(a) Deed for additional right-of-way on the west side of
Gothard Street north of Ellis Avenue from Masao and
Mitsuko Fujita to the City.
(b) Deed for water rights for Tract No. 5025 from Harold and
Fern Gisler, Jack H. and Della G. Harpster, and Macco
Realty Company to the City.
(c) Deed for water rights on Tract No. 5026 from Harold and
Fern Gisler, Jack H. and Della G. Harpster, and Macco
Realty Company to the City.
On motion by Stewart, seconded by Welch,
Council accepted the deeds and directed the Clerk to record same
with the County Recorder of Orange County. Motion carried.
4' UNICTEAL COURT- Mayor Lambert informed the People present
SPACE PROBLE S that this meeting had been ajourned from
the meeting.of Monday, March 2, 1964, in
order to meet with Supervisor David Baker, Judge Celia Baker, and
Judge Charles A. Bauer, to discuss the crowded situation in the
Municipal. Court area, and to see whether anything could be done to
alleviate these conditions.
The City Administrator informed the
Council and those present of the steps, which had been taken to
provide additional space for courts. Mr. Miller then read an
excerpt of minute action of the Council taken at the meeting of
December 16, 1963 granting authorization to the County to place
office trailer facilities on @ity property adjacent to the Court
Building as a temporary emergency measure for providing additional
space for housing clerical personnel.
Considerable discussion was held on the
court proposition by members of the Council, Supervisor Baker, and
Judges Bauer and Baker.
FIRE STATION SLUG. A motion was made by Welch, seconded by
OFFERED COUNTY Lambert, that the City Administrator be
directed to write a letter to each of the
Supervisors informing them that the City will be vacating the pre-
sent fire station building in approximately 60 days, and that it
will be available for additional office and clerical space for the
Municipal Court if the County wishes to make use of it. Motion
carried.
