Diekoff City Treasurer OATH OF OFFICE Immediately following the canvassing of the election, the Mayor administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected City Clerk, Paul C. Jones. The City Clerk in turn, administered the Oatli of Office to the remaining newly elected officers, as follows: Ernest H. Gisler Jake R. Stewart Donald D. Shipley Betty L. Jones. o'clock P.M., following recess, by the City Aq. ELECTION OF MAYOR The name of Jake R. Stewart was placed in DONALD D. SHIPLEY nomination by Councilman Robert M. Lambert. The motion failed for lack of, a second. The name of Robert M. Lambert was placed in nomination by Councilman Jake R. Stewart. The motion failed for lack of a second. The name of Donald D. Shipley was placed in nomination by Councilman Jake R. Stewart. Councilman Thomas H. Welch seconded the nomination. By a unanimous vote of the Council, Donald D. Shipley was elected Mayor of the City Council. MAYOR SHIPLEY The Clerk then turned the gavel over to PRESENTED GAVEL Mayor Donald D. Shipley and congratulated him on his election. MEETING RESUMED Mayor Shipley accepted the gavel and -assumed charge of the meeting. ,FIIgOVERMYER RES �2 The City Clerk presented a transmittal from AGRMT APPROVED the Director of -Public Works of an agree- ment between National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburg and the City, providing for the Surety to assume the responsibility of completion of Unit No. 2 of the Harry Overmyer Reservoir, and recommending that Council approve same and authorize its execution by the Mayor and City Clerk. On motion by Welch, seconded by Gisler, Council approved the recommendation of the Director of Public Works, and authorized the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the agreement between the National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburg and the City. Motion carried. MRS DIEKOFF REAPPT On motion by Gisler, seconded by Welch, w3 CITY COLLECTOR Mrs. Betty Diekoff was reappointed as City Collector. Motion carried.
