MINUTES Council Chamber, City Hall Huntington Beach, California Wednesday, July 15, 1964 Mayor Shipley called the regular adjourned Council of the City of Huntington Beach to order The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all present in the Council Chamber. ROLL CALL Councilmen Present: Welch, Gisler, Stewart, Lambert, Shipley Councilmen Absent: None b'? 4 APPLICANTS - POSITION The City Administrator informed the Council �jtHIEF OF POLICE that four applicants for the position of Chief of Police had been certified by the State Personnel Services Board for further interviews by the Council as follows: Gordon J. Dallas, Walter R. Schotmiller, John S.Seltzer, Orval L. Wooner. He stated that these applicants were waiting in the ante -room. RECESS interviews. RECONVENED JOHN H. SELTZER CHIEF OF POLICE Chief Howard Robidoux. OATH OF OFFICE �)%�yPERMANENT RANK OF CAPTAIN Huntington Beach Police carried. ,ADJOURNMENT adjourned. Mayor Shipley called a recess of the Council at 7:05 P.M. for the purpose of holding the Council was reconvened at 9:52 P.M. by the Mayor. On motion by Stewart, seconded by Gisler, Council appointed John H. Seltzer as Chief of Police to fill the unexpired term of Motion carried. Chief Seltzer was then given the Oath of Office by the City Clerk. On motion by Stewart, seconded by Welch, Council authorized that Chief Seltzer.be. given the permanent rank of Captain in the Department for a two year period. Motion On motion by Lambert, seconded by Gisler, the regular adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Huntingtbn-Beach Motion carried.
