Home My WebLink About1964-09-14MINUTES 452 Council Chamber, City Hall Huntington Beach, California Monday, September 14 1964 Mayor Shipley called the regular adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach to order at 7:30 o'clock P.M. The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all present in the Council Chamber. ROLL CALL Councilmen Present: Welch, Gisler, Lambert, Shipley Councilmen Absent Stewart O WARRANT REGISTER On motion by Lambert, seconded by Gisler, Council approved the Warrant Register for" September 14, 1964, on recommendation of the Finance Committee. Motion carried., PURCH OF FIREWORKS On motion by Lambert, seconded by Welch, 4Py 4 APPROVED Council authorized the purchas -of fire- works for the U. S. Surfboart ampionships, not to exceed $400, subject to approval of the insura'fte by the City Attorney. Motion carried. PMT AUTH On motion by Lambert, seconded by Welch, MEINHART Council authorized payment to Oscar ° Meinhart in the sum of $250.00, and authorµ ized payment of $600.00 for dignitary expenses for the U. S. Surfboarc Championships. Motion carried. FIRE AEPT AUTH On motion by Lambert, seconded by Gisler, ASSIST FIREWORKS Council authorized the Fire Department to assist in the lighting of fireworks for the U. S. Surfboard Championships, subject to presentation of°a permit from the State Fire Marshal s Office. Motion carried. RECESS Mayor Shipley called a recess of the Council at 8:49 o clock P.M. for the purpose of holding a personnel discussion, and ordered the Council Chamber< cleared. RECONVENED The meeting was reconvened at 9:38 o'clock P.M. by the Mayor. 'o v DISMISSAL On motion by Welch, seconded by Gisler, UPHELD Council sustained the action by the Chief of Police in the dismissal of Officer Manley from the Police Department. Motion carried. TIV ADJOURNED On motion by Lambert, seconded'by Welch, the regular adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach adjourned. Motion carried.
