The Invocation was given by Reverend Gilbert lien, € f Grist Presbyterian Church. ROLL CALL Councilmen Present: W-elch, Gisler, Stewart Lambert', Shipley Councilmen Absent. Br tt, 14 Alabama Street, City, ' for <removal of a palm tree in front of his home, to eliminate the nesting of pigeons therein. Following discussion of the problems caused b� pigeons near~ City Hall, motion was made by Welch, second Lambert, to refer the matter to the Fablic Works Department for study and report. Motion carried. BCC 1NTES LICENSE ;Rj�MU - SAUNA BATH The Clerk presented an application for license to conduct the business of sauna baths - Viking Sauna Math, 16942 Beach Boulevard, City, filed by firs. Rose Jeer es of Los Angeles. Councilman Stewart abstained from € iscussi on and action on this matter, due to a conflict of -interest, and left his place at the Council table. The Chief of Police reporter] that he had not had time to investigate the applicant for sauna bath business license. € n motion by Welch, second Gisler, Council deferred action on the application for business license of Hrs. Porter, President, protesting the Planning Commission's approval of a revised plot plan for UV #77 - bowers, Inc. and submitting a chick 1n the amount of $75.00 as fees for mailing of notices of same. On motion by Welch, second Gisler, Coa,zacil dented the request for hearing on UV r 727, based on a finding of the Council that there had not been a substantial, change in the revised plot plan to warrant a public hearing and directed the Clerk to refund the $75.00 to the elan Mar Homeowners Association. Baker, Supervisor of the Second District, of a communication 'from the -Metropolitan -eater District, informing Council that a meeting would-be held on Wednesday, November 3, 1965 at o 300 A.M. at the MW Headquarters In Los Angeles, On the island site for the future desalination plant. On motion by Stewart, second Gisler, Council authorized the attendance by any Councilman able to attend said meeting, with reasonable expenses and travel by City vehicle allowed. Motion carried. d. The Clerk presented a letter from the Buena Park Racing Association, requesting permission to use property north of 'Talbert, Avenue and east of the pacific Electric Railway owned by Ted Manthei, for a motor vehicle race track. On motion by Lambert, second Gisler, Council refer -red the request of the Buena Park Racing Association to the City Administrator for study. Motion carried. The Clerk read a letter from the € ityY Treasurer, requesting that the salary of the Assistant Treasurer er° be increased from Ranges 34 to Range 38 p the employ-ee now classified as an Intermediate Account Clerk be reclassified to Deputy Treasurer and -the salary amended from 'Runge 31 to 3 , and further requesting authorization to employ an Intermediate Account Clerk. The Clerk presented a claim from William and Alice G b r°s for damages sustained by his catering business when placed under arrest and taken into custody by the local police. Wachter, and -referred the matter to the City Attorney and the City's insurance carrier. Motion carried. CITY The Clerk presented n claim filed by Mrs. Weans Dollar, for damages to a tire on her car caused when she hit a construction barricade at the intersection of Edinger and Gothard Streets. On motion by Lambert, second Gisler, Council. denied the claim for damages filed by Mrs. Wayne Dollar, and referred the matter to the City Attorney and the City e insurance carrier.
