I. Fuca, Jr. addressed the < Council anal ;.stated .that they were opposed to t -ae . proposed annexation. Mr. Jerry Nelson addressed the Council and at<ated that he opposed the proposed annexation, There being no further Prot acts filed, either oral or written, the public hearing on the Bolsa Chica #5 'Annexation was closed by Vayor Shipley. Page 02 - Minutes, November 26, 1965 On motion by Lambert, second Gisler, Resolution No. 2268 was passed and adopted by the following roll call vote: AYES.- Councilmen: Gisler, Lambert, Shipley NOES: Councilmen; o None: ABSENT: Councilmen: Welch, Stewart GIRT, SCOUTS - RUMMAGE SALE: The Clerk informed the Council that he had been contacted by Mesa Glen So Shepard, lOi6 Huntington Avenue, Cite, regarding a request for Council approval of a .rummage sale to be held by Girl Scout Troop 20 at 226 Main Street, City, on December 4, 1965x The Clerk stated that Mrs, Shepard had written a Letter it this regards but that due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the letter had not been received .in his office Can motion by Lambert, second Gisler, the Girl Scout Troop 320 were granted permission to hold a rummage sale at 226 Main street, City, on December 4, 1965 o Motion carried. DAILY PILOT - nlsVERTISIN RDQD'EST The City Administrator informed the Council that he had been contacted by the Huntington Peach 'daily Pilot in regard to a special edition of the .gaper which they propose to put out in the near future entitled "Projection ' 6 ", requesting the City to considers taking advertising space in said edition. on motion by Lambert, second Gisler, the: matter of advertising in the special edition of the Daily Pilot was referred to the Chamber of Commerce, Motion carried •liar` SURFING FILM COPY TO "SURFS UP` TV SHOW The Administrator presented a letter from. the Director or Recreation, and Parks concerning a request he had received from the "Surfs Up'' television program, requesting permission to purchase a silent print: of the C'i.ty' s 1964 surfing film, The request included permission to add commentary and musical background, and use of the film on a televised program or Channel 9 in the near future, on motion by Gisler, second Lambert, than Administrator was authorized to furnish the Surfs yip program with a copy of the .film at the price offered. Motion carried The Administrator informed the Council that he had been contacted by the Huntington Peach. Junior Chamber of Commerce with a request to have; telephones installed and use an office in the old Lifeguard Headquarters building on the beach to conduct their "Call Santa Claus'' program On motion by Lambert, second Gisler, the request of the Junior Chamber of Commerce for use of the old Lifeguard Headquarters building on the beach was approved for a six day period beginning December 6, 1965 Motion carried PERSONNEL - C ARY DAVIS PROMOTION REC; DEPT The Administrator presented a request from the Director of Recreation and Parks for promotion. of Mr. Crary D, Davis to Recreation Supervisor, Range 39-A, as a replacement for Mr. Richard Copeland who resigned. Paqe #3 - Minutes, November 26, 1965 On motion by Gisler, second Lambert, Council approved the .reelassi- ficatson of Gary L. Davis to the position of Recreation Supervisor, Range 39—A, effective December 1, 1965. Motion carried. PERSONNEL - CHARY REBOIN PROMOTION - RRC DEPT The Administrator also presented a req,aest from -the Director of Recreation and Parks for promotion of Gary A. Reboin from a part time position to the position of Recreation Leader I (full time), Range 32-A, to replace Gary Da Davila On motion by Lambert, second Gisler, Council approved the reclassifi- cation of Chary A. Reboin to the position of Recreation Leader 1, Range 32-A,. effective December 1, 1965, Motion carried. YI HR CO PROPERTY EXCHANGE d EXT OF TIME The Clerk presented a letter froal the Huntington Reach Company extending their offer .for exchange of property on the :beads and bluff for an additional 45 days, and requesting Council consideration on this matter. On motion by Lambert, second Gisler, the Letter from the Huntington Reach Company was received and ordered filed. ,Motion carried. INFORMAL MEETINGS CALLED Mayor Shipley called a meeting of the Council as an informal Commi ittee- of-the-Whole for Monday, November 29, 1965, at the Huntington Harbour Beach Club, to meet with members of the Urban Land Institute Panel, and for Monday, December 6, 1965 at ` :00 A,M. in the Council Chambers, for a study session.
