BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: John Mandrell, Herbert Day,
Richard Harlow.
BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: None.
MINUTES: The Minutes of March 23, 1966 and
March 30, 1966 meetings were accepted
as transcribed.
AREA ;'.VARIANCE NO. 66-20
Applicant - Robert Q. Shupe
To permit the waiver -of the 42"
high block wall require'd'by Article 979 of the Huntington
Beach Ordinance Code. Located at the southeast corner of
Robidoux Drive and Beach Blvd. and legally described as
Lots 19 thhough 24, Block A. Tract 528.
The hearing was opened to the
audience.
The secretary read a letter
signed by nine property owners requesting the wall to remain
on "A" Street. Mr. Files, 16892 "A" Street, property
owner was ,present and objected.;_to,the•request to waive the
wall alor1g•,,"A" ,,$greet. t
It was noted that -cars could have
access to "A" Street if the wall were not required also
that the wall will screen the headlight of the cars in the
parking lot from the homes across the street.
It was the consensus of the.
Board to continue'the request until April 13, 1966 to
enable the applicant to present his reasons for the request.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY MANDRELL AND
SECONDED BY DAY TO CONTINUE AREA VARIANCE NO. 66-20 TO
APRIL 13, 1966 AND THAT THE SECRETARY NOTIFY THE APPLICANT.=
ROLL CALL VOTE:
AYES: MANDRELL, DAY, HARLOW.
NOES: NONE.
ABSENT: NONE.
THE MOTION CARRIED.
AREA VARIANCE NO. 66-21
Applicant - Kenneth M. Scholz
To allow a six (6) ft. high
screen wall to be located approximately 131�'feet-from the
front property line in deviation to the required 15 foot
setback and located at 15162 Yorkshire Lane and legally
described as Lot 40 of Tract 3889.
The hearing was opened to the
audience.
K. M. Scholz, applicant explained
the request.
He stated that the wall varies
from 1316 feet to 15 feet from the front property line.
There being no further comment,
the hearing was cla-sdd.

AND SECONDED BY MANDRELL TO APPROVE AREA VARIANCE NO. 66-21 FOR
THE FOLLOWING REASONS:
