City Attorney Bush reported to the. Council on the action which had
been taken by their body at the regular meeting of May 2, 1966, in
regard to Ordinance No. 1206 and Final Tract Map No. 6181; stating
that it was his opinion that the Council was required to approve this
Final Map since they had previously approved the Tentative Map on the.
same development. Mr. Bush recommended that both the Ordinance making
the change of zone, and the Final Tract Map be approved.

Councilman Kaufman took exception to the necessity of the Council
having to pass the Ordinance making the change of zone, even though
they might be required to accept the Final Tract Map.
Considerable discussion was held by the Council in regard to the
possible ramifications of the matter under consideration.
Mr. Roger Howell, Attorney for the developer of the property covered
by Final Tract Map No. 6181, was requested by the Mayor to present
any thoughts or suggestions he might have in this matter.
Mr. Howell stated that he believed that, if the governing body
approves a Tentative Tract Map, they must then of necessity, follow
through and approve the Final Map, provided that all conditions
imposed had been met.
On motion by Kaufman, second Green, Council'deferred action on the
Ordinance and Final Tract Map under consideration until the regular
meeting of May 16, 1966. Motion carried.
The Clerk gave Ordinance No. 1210 an oral first reading in full -
