Wednesday, January 4, 1967
A MOTION WAS MADE BY BAZZL AND
SECONDED BY ROYER TO ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 66-50 RECOMMENDING
DENIAL OF ZONE CASE NO. 66-50 TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE
FOLLOWING REASONS:
1. The master Plan of Land Use designates this property for highway
related commercial use based on the premise that the Huntington
Beach Freeway will be located east of Goldenwest Street; how-
ever, recent decisions by the City Council indicate a preference
to have the freeway located west of Goldenwest Street.
2. Until a firm decision on the freeway location is made any re-
zoning in the area would be without valid guidelines and a
complete re-study.of the master plan should be made.
3. The rezoning would be premature.
4. The applicant insisted on an immediate decision and he was not
willing to wait for further study.
