National Bank Building Huntington Beach, California Wednesday, March 8, 1967 BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: John Mandrell, Richard Harlow, Dan McFarland BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: None. 1. AREA VARIANCE NO. 67-15 Applicant: Dennis V. Dyer To permit a portion of a front -entry garage to be setback 18' from the front property line in deviation to the required 22' setback. Located at 9122 Crawford Circle and legally described as Lot 44 of Tract 4493. The hearing was opened to the audience. There was no one present to speak for or against -the matter. The hearing was closed to the audience. Board discussion followed. A MOTION WAS MADE BY MANDRELL AND SECONDED BY HARLOW TO APPROVE AREA VARIANCE NO. 67-15 FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS: 1. The majority of the driveway has a 22' depth. 2. Two cars can be parked in the drive. 3. Other garages in the area are only setback 20 ft. ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: Mandrell, Harlow, McFarland. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. THE MOTION CARRIED. USE PERMIT NO. 67-A Applicant: Roger Verduyn To allow a single family residence to be used as an office in conjunction with a sweater importing business. Located at . 5092 Cheryl Drive and legally described as Lot 112 of Tract 3616. The hearing was opened to the audience. Roger Verduyn,-the applicant, explained his request to the Board. USE PERMIT NO. 67-5 Applicant: Charles Nilson To permit a home occupation for the use of a phone in conjunction with a welding business in the Rl Single Family Residence District. Located at 16422 Woodstock Lane and legally described as Lot 12 of Tract 5460. The hearing was opened to the audience. There being no one present to speak for or against the matter, the hearing was closed. Board discussion followed. A MOTION WAS MADE BY HARLOW AND SECONDED BY MAN DRELL TO APPROVE USE PERMIT NO. 67-5 SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITION: 1. No welding in conjunction with the business, shall be conducted on the premises. ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: Mandrell, NOES: None. ABSENT: None. THE MOTION CARRIED. Harlow, McFarland. USE PERMIT NO. 67-6 Applicant: Shiela Starnes To allow a home occupation for the use of a phone in conjunction with Maid Service. Located at 18002 Hartlund St. and legally described as Lot 51 of Tract 2699. The hearing was opened to the audience. There being no one present to speak for or against the matter, the hearing was closed. Board discussion followed. A MOTION WAS MADE BY HARLOW AND SECONDED BY MANDRELL TO APPROVE USE PERMIT NO. 67-6. DIVISION OF LAND NO. 67-6 Applicant: Voorheis-Trindle-Nelson To allow the adjustment of lot lines between Lots 152 - 162 inclusive. Located on the south side of Warner Avenue, approximately 295 feet west of Graham Street. The hearing was opened to the audience. Jim Whitelaw, representing the applicant, explained the request to the Board. There being no further comment the hearing was closed to the audience. Board discussion followed. A MOTION WAS MADE BY MANDRELL AND SECONDED BY HARLOW TO APPROVE DIVISION OF LAND NO. 67-6 SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITION: 1. A parcel map shall be filed with the City and recorded. ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: Mandrell, Harlow, McFarland. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. THE MOTION CARRIED. DIVISION OF LAND NO. 67-7 Applicant: Voorheis-Trindle-Nelson To allow the adjustment of lot lines between Lots 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 of Tract No. 5755. Located on the northeast corner of Candlewood Lane and Deervale Lane and legally described as Lots 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 of Tract No. 5755. to the audience. The hearing was opened Jim Whitelaw, representing the applicant, explained the reasons for the request. There being no further comment the hearing was closed to the audience.
