The Pledge of Allegiance was give by all present in the Council Chambers. ROLL CALL Councilmen. Present- Coen artlett,,•, idle, Kaufman, Stewart, Green, Shiple Councilmen Absent-, None - MINUTES On motion by Bartlett, the minutes of the reg-tilar meeting of September 5, 1967, were ,approved and adopted as prepared and mailed by the City Clerk. ` Iotion carried PARKING AUTHORITY AGREEMENT - STONE & YOUNGBERG n motion by Greens Council authorized the City Administrator to discontinue negotiations for an ,agreement with Tom Doyle of Goodbody and Company as financial consultants for the Parking Authority; and authorized him to negotiate an,agreement with atone and Youngberg as Parking Authority Financial Consultants. Motion carried. On motion by Stewart, Council referred the Fire Department reorganiza- tion to the Personnel Board for review. Motion carried. �� L RETIREMENT AGE On motion by Kaufman, Council directed that no change be made in the mandatory retirement age for City Employees. Motion come;.Q TRASH DISPOSAL PROGRAM On motion. by Bartlett, Council directed the City Administrator to present a recommendation to Council regarding a proposed trash disposal program. Motion carried. Company, qnd reject all other bids. On motion by Gisler, Council directed the City attorney to prepare a contract between the City of Huntington Beach, the Orange County Sanitation Districts and the Sunset Beach Sanitary District for the processing the Sunset Bench Sanitary District's,,sewage by the City. Motion carried, I) �� TRASH AND GARBAGE CONTRACT The City Administrator informed the Council that the trash and garbage contract with the Rainbow Disposal Company would, expiry: on October 9, 1967, and recommended that the Council extend the present contract to the en.d of the calendar year in order that: Council have enough time to review the contract: and make changes as desired. Mayor Shipley appointed Councilmen Ste -wart and Green as a Cammittee-u - tb.e-Council to work with the Staff on a review of a new contract Glenn 'Hottenstein, 5581 Heil Avenue, City, addressed the Council to compliment Rainbow. -Disposal for the ,good, service rendered by,, their company, presently under contract to the City,. motion by Caen, Council directed the Staff and Council Committee to negotiate for the renewal of the trash and rubbish contract and report back at the next meeting on October 2, 1967a Motion carried. 1 BOARD OF APPEAL The City Administrator informed the Council that under Section 205 o the Uniform Building Code, Volume IV - Dangerous Buildings, the Mayor should appoi.nL a 5-member Beard of appeal.
