TUESDAY, DULY 15, 1969 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bazil, Bokor, Slates, Tom, Miller, Porter Duke COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None MINUTES: On motion by Duke and seconded by Miller, the Minutes of the Huntington Beach Planning Commission of May 6, and May 20, 1969, were accepted as transcribed and mailed by the Secretary. CONDITIONAL EXCEPTION NO. 69-16 - Continued Applicant: Southern California Edison Co. Requesting construction, operation and maintenance of-'an,electrc distribution substation in excess of one acre in size. The Secretary read a letter from the applicant requesting an extension of time. . A MOTION WAS MADE BY BOKOR AND SECONDED BY TOM TO CONTINUE CONDITIONAL EXCEPTION NO 69-16 TO AUGUST 5, 1969. ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: Bazil, Bokor, Slates, Tom, Miller, Porter, Duke NOES: None ABSENT: None THE MOTION CARRIED. TENTATIVE TRACT MAP NO 5662 - Continued Subdivider: Aptec Development Co. The Subdivision Committee Report was read by the Secretary. Commission discussion followed. A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER AND SECONDED BY BOKOR TO APPROVE TENTATIVE TRACT MAP NO 5662 WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: 1. All applicable ordinances shall be complied with. 2. The Tentative Map received July 11, 1969, shall be the approved map. The Secretary read a letter from the applicant requesting continuance of Tentative Tract Map No. 7019 to August 5, 1969. A MOTION WAS MADE BY MILLER AND SECONDED BY TOM TO CONTINUE TENTATIVE TRACT MAP NO. 7019 TO AUGUST 5, 1969, AT THE REQUEST OF THE APPLICANT. Johnson To permit the construction of a Mobile Home Park in the M1 Light Industrial District. The Staff Report was read by the Secretary. The hearing was opened to the audience. Mr. Johnson addressed the Commission stating that the present zoning was inherited from the County. If they are able to go ahead with their request they plan to spend $110,000 in land preparation and will put in all off -site improvements. Commission discussion followed. USE VARIANCE NO 68-44 Yoder Site The Secretary read a letter from the City Engineer requesting a six months' extension of time. The Staff report was read -by the Secretary. Commission discussion followed. A MOTION WAS MADE BY MILLER AND SECONDED BY TOM TO APPROVE AN EXTENSION OF TIME TO FEBRUARY 1, 1970, FOR.USE VARIANCE NO 68-44. ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: Bazil, Bokor, NOES: None ABSENT: None THE MOTION CARRIED. MISCELLANEOUS: Slates, Miller, Tom, Duke, Porter The Secretary stated that the Urban Land Institute Citizen's Steering Committee has requested a meeting with the Planning Commission. It was the consensus of the Commission to meet with the Urban Land Institute Citizen's Steering Committee on August 26, 1969. -4- 7/15/69 - PC Minutes: H.B. Planning Commission Tuesday, July 15, 1969 Page No. 5 Chairman Slates discussed new policies to be followed. 1. Code Amendments will be prepared by the Staff,reviewed by the Planning Commission, submitted to the City Attorney for legal preparation and then set for public hearing. 2. The Planning Department will not make calls to individual Commissioners prior to regular Commission meetings. However, Commissioners will be called as a reminder for special meetings. 3. Planning Commission agenda packets will be mailed out and each Commissioner is expected to bring his packet to the meeting; thus considerable staff time will be saved in duplication and preparation of extra packets. /,• &-. 12 K.
