Mayor Green called the regular adjourned meeting of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach to order at 7:30 P.M.

Councilmen Absent: Shipley

YOUTH ACTIVITIES FUND
The Assistant City Administrator addressed the Council and reported on
the possibility of Council backing the Youth Activities Fund. As a re-
sult of an Administrative study, it was determined that the amount of
ten thousand ($10,000.00) dollars, could be transferred from the Con-
tingency Fund to the Music and Promotion Fund for this purpose.
Following discussion on the matter, on motion by Coen, Council approved
the report of the Assistant City Administrator and authorized the trans-
fer of ten thousand ($10,000.00) dollars from the Contingency Fund to
the Music and Promotion Fund, for youth activities; and directed that
funds derived from activities over and above those given them by the City,
be deposited to maintain & revolving fund, with all monies to be expended
only upon direction of the City Council. The motion passed by the
following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmen: Bartlett, McCracken, Kaufman, Matney, Coen, Green
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: Shipley
PUBLIC HEARING - SUNSET BEACH #5 & #6 ANNEXATION - 8 PM
Mayor Green announced that this was the day and hour set for a public
hearing to hear objections to an election on "Sunset Beach Nos. 5 and
6 Annexation," as required under Section 35120 of the Government Code
of the State of California. He informed the audience that said section
stipulates that, at any time not later than the hour set for hearing
such objections to the election, any owner of property within the
territory may make a written protest against the annexation, and the
oral protests to such annexation had no legal significance.
Mayor Green declared the hearing open.
The Clerk presented written protests which had been received in his office,
and informed Council that the hearing should be continued to August 18,
1969, under Section 35120 of the Government Code.
On motion by Bartlett, Council continued the Sunset Beach Annexation
hearing to August 18, 1969. Motion carried.
