HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-07-12M LNUTES HUNTINGTON BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION Council Chambers, Civic Center Huntington Beach, California TUESDAY, JULY 12, 1971 - STUDY SESSION COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Higgins, Bazil, Porter, Slates, Duke, Kerins, Boyle COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None DISCUSSION: TOWN LOT STUDY - CIRCULATION PLAN AND DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS The Acting Secretary informed the Commission that this item was continued from the July 7, 19-71 meeting for further discussion. A presentation was made of the town lot study. It was the consensus of the Commission that the staff should contact other cities using the Land Use Intensity System to see how it works. Also, to ,instruct the staff to prepare a code amendment to implement the Land Use Intensity System. APPLICATION OF CIVIC DISTRICT SUFFIX AS IT RELATES TO THE CIVIC CENTER AND HUNTINGTON CENTRAL PARK The Acting Secretary pointed out to the Commission that this item was also continued from the July 7, 1971 meeting for further discussion. The Commission stated their opinions regarding the Civic District Suffix as it relates to single family homes and the civic center. Commission discussion followed. A MOTION WAS MADE BY SLATES AND SECONDED BY BOYLE TO CONTINUE DISCUSSION REGARDING_APPLICATION OF CIVIC DISTRICT SUFFIX AS IT RELATES TO THE CIVIC CENTER AND HUNGTINGTON CENTRAL PARK UNTIL THE COMMISSION RECEIVES DIRECTION FROM THE CITY COUNCIL REGARDING THE DESIGN REVIEW BOARD'S INVOLVEMENT IN THE REVIEW PROCESS. ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: Higgins, Bazil, Porter, Slates, Duke, Kerins, Boyle NOES: None ABSENT: None THE MOTION_CARRIED. COMMLSSIONE& BAZIL: Commissioner Bazil was excused from further participation at 4:00 P.M. DISCUSSION: Housing Element for the General Plan. It was the consensus of the Commission to continue discussion regarding the Housing Element for the General Plan to the July 20, 1971 meeting. PRECISE PLAN OF STREET ALIGNMENT NO. 71-3 Referred back to the Planning Commission from the City Council plan the street alignment for Lane and a street parallel to of Atlanta Avenue. Said plan proposed to precise Lochlea Lade, Banff Lane, Cupar and approximately 660 ft. south It was the consensus of the Commission to continue said item to the .July 20, 1971 meetiiig.
