WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 8, 1971 BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: McFarland, Spencer, Palin BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: None CONDITIONAL EXCEPTION N0.-71-97 Applicant: Carter Sign Company To permit a temporary directional subdivision sign to direct traffic. The subject property is located on the north side of Warner Avenue, approximately 50 ft. west of Sims Street in the R3 Limited Multiple Family Residence District. The hearing was opened to the audience. Robert Van Nostrand, representing the applicant, addressed the Board and explained the request. It was noted by the Board that by actual measurement in the field , this application was not required as the request conforms to the code. A MOTION WAS MADE BY MCFARLAND AND SECONDED BY PALIN TO WITHDRAW CONDITIONAL EXCEPTION NO.71-97 AT THE REQUEST OF THE APPLICANT FOR THE FOLLOWING REASON: 1. The applicant can maintain 200 ft. between signs and residential dwellings in the area. ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: Spencer, McFarland, Palin NOES: None THE MOTION CARRIED. ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW NO. 71-85 Applicant: Albertsons Grocery To permit a Christmas tree sales lot at an existing market. The subject property is located' at 15511 South Edwards in the C2 Community Business District. There was no one present to represent the applicant. Board discussion was held. A MOTION WAS MADE BY SPENCER AND SECONDED BY PALIN TO APPROVE ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW NO. 71-85 WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITION: 1. Section 9730.25.2 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code shall be complied with. .1- 12/8/71 - BZA Minutes: H. B. CONDITIONAL EXCEPTION NO. 71-13 (Referred by the Planning Applicant: Vancie Coffey Commission for conditions as deemed necessary) To permit the expansion of an existing lumber yard by adding additional storage for lumber without permanent on -site or off -site improvements for a period of 5 years in lieu of the require- ments in S. 9730.15, S. 9730.16 and S. 9730.17 which require right-of-way dedication, installation of improvements and walls. The subject property is located on the west side of Beach Boulevard, approximately 500 f t. north of Utica Avenue in the C2 Community Business District. the Board. Mr. Coffey addressed A lengthy discussion was held with regard to the screening walls and the driveways. Board discussion was held. A MOTION WAS MADE BY MCFARLAND AND SECONDED BY SPENCER TO CONTINUE CONDITIONAL EXCEPTION NO. 71-13 TO DECEMBER 15, 1971 TO ALLOW TIME FOR THE APPLICANT TO SUBMIT A REVISED PLOT PLAN.
