HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-07-06a MINUTES Council.Chamber, Civic Center Huntington Beach, California Friday, July 6, 1973 Mayor Pro Tempore Duke called the adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach to order at 5:00 P.M. The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all present in the Council Chamber. ROLL CALL Councilmen Present: Shipley, Bartlett, Green, Coen, Duke Gibbs - (arrived 5:43 P.M.) Matney - (arrived 6:00 P.M.) Councilmen Absent: None EXECUTIVE SESSION CALLED Mayor Pro Tempore Duke called an Executive Session of the Council to discuss litigation matters. RECESS The Mayor Pro Tempore called a recess of the Council at 5:35 P.M. RECONVENE The meeting was reconvened at 7:10 P.M. by Mayor Matney. RESOLUTION NO. 3729 - ADOPTED - CONTRACT - CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED BY ROBERT TERRY The Deputy City Clerk read Resolution No. 37.29 by title - "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE -CONTRACT WITH CERTAIN PARTIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED BY ROBERT TERRY." On motion by Green, Council waived further reading of Resolution No. 3729 and adopted same by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmen: Shipley, Bartlett, Green, Coen, Duke, Matney NOES: Councilmen: None ABSENT: Councilmen: Gibbs EMPLOYMENT OF WILLIAM SHERMAN - APPRAISER - APPROVED A motion was made by Councilman Green to employ Mr. William Sherman as an appraiser for the City in an amount not to exceed $4000 to appraise property for possible City purchase. The motion was passed by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmen: Shipley, Bartlett, Green, Coen, Duke, Matney NOES: Councilmen: None ABSENT: Councilmen: Gibbs
