Commission discussion ensued, with the following points of view expressed by individual members: Commissioner Bazil would prefer to see the area remain at its present residential designation; he would, however, like to see some consideration given to industrial as an alternative for the existing Cambro plant. Commissioner Cohen would like to see additional information (fiscal impacts, the housing element, etc.) before making any type of change to the general plan designations in this area. Commissioner Higgins agreed that additional studies are necessary for the area, but added that he would not like to see industrial in the general area.
