HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-02-06130111*1 Breakfast in the Park Huntington Beach, California Saturday, February 6, 1982 Mayor Finley called the regular adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach to order at 8:00 A.M. Mayor Finley stated that the purpose of the meeting was to meet jointly with the Community Services Com- mission to tour the City park system. ROLL CALL - COUNCIL Present: MacAllister, Thomas, Finley, Bailey, Mandic, Kelly Absent: Pattinson ROLL CALL - COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION Present: Cooper, Blankinship, Giese, Osness, Vander Molen, Kennedy, Frost, Farrell Absent: Dysinger, Rivera, Jensen BUS TOUR OF CITY PARK SYSTEM Council toured the following park sites within the City, disembarking briefly at Seabridge Park: Huntington Central Park - caretaker location, ballfields, equine and Tully -Miller Lake Areas Terry Park - seniors` housing, industrial zoned areas McCallen Park Site - lake and oil well problem areas Manning Park Site grading and drainage problem areas Moffett School/Park - new, low -maintenance design Drew Park - new, saline soil conditions Bartlett Park Site - Newland House, natural marsh area Langenbeck Park Site - Edison easement, drainage problems Helme Park Site - backstop versus no backstop Lambert Park - tree grove preservation, future development completion in passive mode Lake View Park - Joint powers lease land development with Ocean View School District, Clubhouse Oak View Center Site and Park - Field Act, new development planned �Z,32 Page #2 - Council Minutes - 2/6/82 Murdy Community Park - basketball program, Ocean View National Little League fields, Park View Golden West College Fields - lighting potential, youth sports Greer Park - lake quality problems Glen View Park - Joint -powers lease land development with Ocean View School District Marina Community_ Park - court surfacing, fencing, little league Haven View Park - Joint -powers lease land development with Ocean View School District Seabrid a Park - parking lot and channel treatment Wieder Park Site - surplus, for sale Harbour View Park - private tennis club proposed Warner Park Site - development scheduled for 82-83 Gibbs Park Site - campground scheduled for development 84-85 Chris Carr Park - lake problem area Irby Park - needs study underway for ultimate size Bolsa View Park - new, low -maintenance design The bus tour ended at Breakfast in the Park in Huntington Central Park.
