HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-09-15MINUTES HUNTINGTON BEACH BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS Room B-6 - Civic Center 2000;Main Street Huntington Beach, California WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 1982 - 1:30 PM BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Spencer, Vogelsang, Smith, Crosby BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Cooper MINUTES: ON MOTION BY SPENCER AND SECOND BY VOGELSANG APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 8, 1982, WAS CONTINUED TO THE REGULAR MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 22, BY UNANIMOUS VOTE OF THOSE PRESENT. AGENDA ITEMS TO BE CONTINUED: None REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS: USE PERMIT NO. 80-31 (Request for Extension of Time) Applicant: Kacor Development Company A request for a one-year extension of time for construction of a 163,000 square foot retail/office center located on the south- west corner of Bolsa Avenue and Springdale Street. This request is covered by N.D. 80-54, previously approved by the Board. Secretary Spencer informed the Board that the requested extension is justified by the applicant because of difficulties encountered in financing, due to current economic conditions. He reviewed the action of the Board in the original approval as well as in the more recent approval of Use Permit No. 82-1 for on overlay for the corner lot. He also pointed out that drives have been predeter- mined by the prior actions and circulation approved by both the Fire Department and Development Services, and that all applicable conditions imposed on Use Permit 80-31 and Use Permit 82-1 would continue to apply under this continuance, if granted. Board of Zoning Adjustments September 15, 1982 Page 2 ON MOTION BY SMITH AND SECOND BY CROSBY THE BOARD, HAVING FOUND THAT THE APPLICANT HAS DEMONSTRATED THAT PRACTICAL DIFFICULTIES EXIST WHICH JUSTIFY GRANTING THE EXTENSION, APPROVED THE REQUEST FOR A ONE- YEAR EXTENSION OF TIME TO OCTOBER 21, 1983, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: AYES: Spencer, Vogelsang, Smith, Crosby NOES: None ABSENT: Cooper THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED.
