ITEM 1• USE PERMIT NO 93-74 (TEMPORARY OUTDOOR EVENT) Applicant: Cezane Kay Joharchi/Mark Spohn & Assoc. 5332 Industrial Drive Huntington Beach, CA 92649 Request: To permit a one (1) day Temporary Outdoor Event (Sunday, October 24, 1993) for a parking lot sale of computer parts and components pursuant to Section 9730.64 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code. Location: 5332 Industrial Drive Jane Madera, Staff Planner, reported that the request was to permit a one day temporary outdoor event for a parking lot sale of computer parts and components. Staff indicated that there should be no impact on other businesses because the event would take place on a Sunday when other businesses in the area are closed. Staff concluded by recommending approval with findings and the standard conditions of approval. Cezane Joharchi, the applicant, was present. She said that the sale would be basically for their dealers and would take place entirely on their premises. There were no other persons present to speak for or against the request and the public hearing was closed. USE PERMIT NO.93-74 (TEMPORARY OUTDOOR EVENT) WAS APPROVED BY THE ZONING ADMINISTRATOR WITH THE FOLLOWING FINDINGS AND CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL. HE STATED THAT THE ACTION TAKEN BY THE ZONING ADMINISTRATOR CAN BE APPEALED TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION WITHIN TWO (2) CALENDAR DAYS. FINDINGS FOR APPROVAL: 1. Use Permit No. 93-74 for a one (1) day temporary outdoor event will not be detrimental to: - a. The general welfare of persons residing or working in the vicinity. The event will take place on a Sunday when most of the surrounding industrial businesses will be closed. b. Property and improvements in the vicinity of such use of building. The event is one (1) day only and none of the existing improvements in the area will be altered as a result of this action. 2. The granting of Use Permit No. 93-74 will not adversely affect the General Industrial General Plan designation of the City of Huntington Beach. SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL: 1. The site plan received and dated September 22, 1993 shall be the conceptually approved layout. 2. Fire access lanes shall be maintained. If fire lane violations occur and the services of the Fire Department are required, the applicant will be liable for expenses incurred. 3. Fire access lanes shall be a minimum width of (24) twenty-four feet. 4. The applicant's request shall include necessary permits for temporary signs. INFORMATION ON SPECIFIC CODE REQUIREMENTS: 1. The event shall comply with all applicable provisions of the Ordinance Codes, Building Division and Fire Department. 2. The applicant shall meet all applicable local, State and Federal Fire Codes, Ordinances and standards. ZA MINUTES 10/13/93 -2- 1 3. The Zoning Administrator reserves the right to revoke Use Permit No. 93-74 if any violations of these conditions or the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code occurs. 4. The applicant shall submit all future temporary outdoor event applications a minimum of thirty (30) days prior to the event. Failure to provide adequate notice shall result in denial of the request.
