City Council Roll Call Present: Sullivan, Coerper, Hardy, Green, Cook Absent: Boardman, Houchen Assistant City Clerk Read Call for Special Meeting Assistant City Clerk Elizabeth Ehring read the Call for Special Meeting Notice to discuss the following items in closed session and for possible report out by the City Attorney of any action taken: Call for City Council Special Meeting City of Huntington Beach Thursday, December 18, 2003 Cathy Green, Mayor Jill Hardy, Mayor Pro Tern Connie Boardman, Council Member Gil Coerper; Council Member Debbie Cook, Council Member Pam Houchen, Council Member Dave Sullivan, Council Member You are hereby notified that a Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California is called for and will be held at City Hall, 2000 Main Street, Huntington Beach, California 92648 in Council Chambers at the hour of 4:00 p.m. The meeting is for the purpose of considering the following: Closed Session of the City Council Recommended Action: Motion to recess to Closed Session on the following items: 1. (City Council) Closed Session — Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(c) to confer with its attorney regarding pending litigation. Based on existing facts and circumstances, the legislative body of the local agency has decided to initiate or is deciding whether to initiate litigation. Number of Potential Cases: one. The City Council voted to initiate to support the league -sponsored litigation re: VLF backfill. The Council voted as follows: 5 Ayes; 0 Noes; 2 Absent ( Boardman, Houchen). The City Council voted to initiate litigation against State Board of Equalization. The Council voted as follows: 5 Ayes; 0 Noes; 2 Absent (Boardman, Houchen).
