(City Council) Mayor Sullivan Announced Reasons for Calling Special Meeting
Mayor Sullivan announced that he had called the Special Meeting because of several
inquiries he had received from citizens regarding the inclusion of a swimming pool at the
proposed new senior center. He stated the topic is a question Council should discuss
after the Measure T vote, and further decisions should be made by those elected after
the November 7, 2006 election. He clarified Measure T only decides if citizens approve
of a senior center being built in Central Park, and any further questions would be
answered and decisions made by Council after the election. He stated his opinion a sign
would be helpful; however the short time the sign would be displayed does not
warrant the expense. Mayor Sullivan announced he would be pulling both items from
the agenda.
