AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING GENERAL ROLES FOR DOING OR
PERFORMING WORK UPON STREET, SIDEWALKS, ALLEY, CURBS, SEWERS
OR GUTTERS IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain as follows:
Section I.— No work of any kind shall be done or performed upon any street,
sidewalk, alley, curb, sewer or gutter in the City of Huntington Beach except it be done
according to specifications adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington
Beach.
Section IL— Before any work mentioned in Section I this Ordinance may be
commenced, the property owner or contractor doing such work(except the same be done
under some of the street improvement acts of this State) must obtain the consent of the
Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach to do such work, which consent must
be given by a resolution of said Board.
Section III.— A permit shall then be issued by the Superintendent of Street of the
said City of Huntington Beach for the doing or performing the said work, in accordance
with the said resolution and in accordance with the provision of ordinance No. 10 in the
said City of Huntington Beach entitled"An Ordinance Prohibiting the Obstruction of the
Streets, Alleys, Sidewalks and Public places within the City of Huntington Beach for any
Purpose without a Permit, also Requiring the Lighting of said Obstructions by night."
Section IV.— The said work shall be then done under the inspection and
supervision of the Superintendent of Streets of the City of Huntington Beach, and the said
Superintendent of Streets shall have any is hereby granted authority to prevent the
performance or doing of any of the said work mentioned Section I of this Ordinance,
where the said work be done in accordance with the provision of this Ordinance.
Section V.— Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of
this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereon shall be
punished by a fine not exceeding Three Hundred Dollars or by imprisonment not
exceeding ninety days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section VI.— Nothing in this Ordinance shall be construed to repeal or affect the
provisions of the aforesaid Ordinance No. 19 of the City of Huntington Beach.
Section VIL— The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance, and
cause the same to be published once in the "Huntington Beach News," a newspaper
printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach, and thereupon and thereafter it
shall take effect and be in full force.

Street, Sidewalks, Alley, Curbs, Sewers or Gutters in the City of Huntington Beach,"
and that the same has been published in the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper
published and printed in the City of Huntington Beach according to law.
