AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION III OF ORDINANCE NO. 19 OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE
PROHIBITING THE OBSTRUCTION OF THE STREETS, ALLEYS, SIDEWALKS
AND PUBLIC PLACES WITHIN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH FOR ANY
PURPOSE WITHOUT A PERMIT; ALSO REQUIRING THE LIGHTING OF
OBSTRUCTION BY NIGHT."
The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain as follows:
Section I. - - Section 11 of Ordinance No. 19 of the City of Huntington
Beach is hereby amended so as to read as the follows, to-wit:
"Section III. - - Any person, firm or corporation desiring to engage in any
trade or business, or to move, or construct a building, make repairs, or to perform any
other work by which it may becomes necessary to place any such building, stand,
counter, lunch wagon, wagon stand, band stand, structure, building material, gravel, dirt,
excavation, or other obstruction upon or in the streets, alleys, sidewalks, or public places
within said City, must first obtain a permit from the Superintendent of Streets of said City
to place any such obstructions as hereinbefore mentioned, up or unsaid streets, alleys,
sidewalks or public places and said Superintendent of Streets shall issue such permit free
of charge."
Section IL— The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance, and
cause the same to be published once in the "Huntington Beach News," a newspaper
printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach, and thereupon and thereafter it
shall take effect and be in full force.

regular meeting of the said Board of Trustees held on the 25Wh day of October 1909 by the
following vote:
Ayes: Warner, Howard, Helme, Manning.
Noes: None. Absent. Stewart.

Streets, Alleys, Sidewalks and Public Places within the City of Huntington Beach, for any
purpose without a Permit; Also Requiring the Lighting of said Obstructions by Night." "
