ORDINANCE NO. #4
AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF
CERTAIN OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain as follows: —
Section # 1: — Each officer here in after named shall receive in full
compensation for performing the duties of the office to which he is elected or appointed,
including any office held by him ex officio the following sums, payable monthly on
warrants ordered by the Board of Trustees:
(A) The city Marshal and ex-officio License and Tax Collector shall receive a
salary of forty dollars ($40.00)per month.
(B) The city clerk and ex-officio Assessor shall receive a salary of fifteen
dollars ($15.00)per month.
(C) The city treasurer shall receive a salary of five dollars ($5.00)per month, in
place and stead of the percentage provided by the Statutes of the State of California.
(D) The city Attorney shall receive a salary of twenty five dollars for the first
two months, and a salary of twenty dollars ($20.00)per month there after.
(E) The city Recorder shall receive in civil cases such fees as are allowed by
statutes of the State of California to Justices of the Peace in like cases and for like
services; and in criminal cases he shall receive a salary from the city the sum of five
dollars ($5.00)per month.
Section #2: — The Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach shall certify to the
passage of this ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the Huntington
Beach News, and there upon and there after it shall take effect and be in full force.

of Huntington Beach, do hereby certify that the foregoing ordinance was passed at a
regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the city of Huntington Beach, held on the 1st
day of March 1909, By the following vote: —

copy of an ordinance of the City of Huntington Beach numbered"4" and entitled"An
Ordinance Fixing the compensation of Certain Officers of the City of Huntington Beach."
And that the same has been published in the Huntington Beach News. a newspaper
published and printed in the city of Huntington Beach according to law. Date published.
