AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT THE PROVISIONS OF STATUTES OF 1893
PAGE 153, AS AMENDED BY STATUTES 1909, PAGE 331, ENTITLED "AN ACT
TO PROVIDE FOR THE PLANTING, MAINTENANCE AND CARE OF SHADE
TREES UPON STREETS, LANES, COURTS AND PLACES WITHIN
MUNICIPALITIES AND OF HEDGES UPON LANES THEREOF; ALSO FOR THE
ERADICATION OF CERTAIN WEEDS WITHIN CITY LIMITS," ARE ADOPTED
BY THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH.
Whereas, pursuant to Ordinance No. 42 of the City of Huntington Beach, adopted
February 21, 1910, the following question was submitted to the qualified elector of the
City of Huntington Beach, towit: "Shall the City of Huntington Beach avail itself of the
provisions of Statutes of 1893, Page 153, as amended by Statutes of 1909, Page 331,
entitled, an act to provide for the planting, maintenance, and are of shade trees upon
Streets, lanes, alleys, courts and places within municipalities, and of hedges upon lanes
thereof, also, for the eradication of certain weeds within City Limits?"
And Whereas, at such election the vote or such question was 59 for and 30 against
the said question. Now Therefore, The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach
do ordain as follows:
Section 1.— That the provisions of Statutes of 1893 page 153, as amended by
Statutes 1909, page 331, entitled an act to provide for the planting maintenance and care
of shade trees upon Streets, lanes, alleys courts, and places within municipalities, and of
hedges upon lanes thereof, also for the eradication of certain weeds within "City Limits,"
are adopted by the City of Huntington Beach, and the said City and all inhabitants and
property therein are subject thereto.
Section 2.— The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance, and
cause the same to be published once in the"The Huntington Beach News" a newspaper,
printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach, and thereupon and thereafter it
shall take effect and be in full force..

on the second day of May, and was passed at a regular meeting of the said Board of
Trustees, adopted on the 16Ih day of May, 1910 by the following vote:
Ayes: Helme, Seely, French. Manning.
Noes: None.
Absent: Stewart.

of Huntington Beach, hereby certify that the foregoing, is a true and correct copy of an
Ordinance of the City of Huntington Beach, numbered No. 51 entitled"An Ordinance
declaring that the provisions of Statutes of 1893 page 153, as amended by Statutes 1909
page 331, entitled, "An act to provide for the planting and care of shade trees upon
Streets, Lanes, Courts and Places within Municipalities and of Hedges upon Lanes
thereof also for the eradication of certain weeds within City Limits" are adopted by the
City of Huntington Beach, and that the same was published in the Huntington Beach
News, a newspaper Printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach, according to
law on the 20th day of May 1910,
