HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #72 ORDINANCE 72 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH PROVIDING FOR THE PUNISHMENT OF DRUNKENNESS AND DISORDERLY PERSONS, AND THE KEEPING OF DISORDERLY HOUSES. The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, do ordain as follows: Section 1. It is hereby declared to be unlawful for any person to be or sleep in or upon any street, alley, sidewalk or other public place, within the corporate limits of the City of Huntington Beach, or to appear thereon or therein a drunken or intoxicated condition. Section 2. It is hereby declared to be unlawful for any person to keep a riotous house, or permit any riotous or disorderly conduct in any house, yard or premises connected therewith, owned or occupied by such person, or be guilty of any riotous or disorderly conduct in any house, yard or premises whereby the peace, quiet, or decency of any person in the neighborhood of such house, may be disturbed. Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine in a sum not exceeding Three hundred dollars ($300.00) or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding three (3) months, for by both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court. Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said city of Huntington Beach, California, and thereupon and thereafter is shall take effect and be in force.
