AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING SPECIFICATION FOR THE GRADING AND OILING
OF STREETS IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, AND DESIGNATING THE
SAME AS "SPECIFICATION NO. 6,"
The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, do ordain as follows:
Section. 1. That the following specifications are hereby adopted for the
grading and oiling of streets in the city of Huntington Beach, and shall be known as
"Specifications No. 6" and all streets hereafter directed to be graded and oiled according
to"Specification No. 6" shall be graded, and oiled according to the provisions and
requirements of these specifications:

California.
The work herein provided for is to be done in accordance with the plans, profiles
and cross-sections on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Huntington
Beach, and all work shall, during its progress and on its completion, conform to the lines
and levels which may, from time to time, be given by said City Engineer.
Section 2: The entire width of the roadway to be brought to grade.
A strip (18) eighteen feet in width in the center of the street shall then be graded
and oiled in accordance with the provisions of"Specification No, 5," as adopted by
Ordinance No. 69 of the City of Huntington Beach,
The remainder of the roadway for its entire width, on both sides of the said
eighteen foot strip shall be rolled untill the surface becomes firm and unyielding and shall
then be oiled with oil at the rate of one and one half gallons to the square yard of the
same gravity, temperature, and tests required for oil by "Specification No, 5" as adopted
by Ordinance No, 69 of the said city of Huntington Beach,
The said roadway, exclusive as aforesaid, of the eighteen foot strip, shall then be
covered with a coating of sand, sufficient to absorb the oil and keep the same from
running off.
The whole surface of the roadway shall then be rolled and where necessary,
brought to grade by redressing and surfacing, and the said eighteen foot strip left in a
smooth hard condition.
Sec. 3. In all respects not otherwise provided by this ordinance the work
shall be done according to Specification No. 5 as adopted by ordinance No. 69. of said
City of Huntington Beach,

Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and
shall cause the same to be published once in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly
newspaper published and circulated in said city of Huntington Beach, and therefore and
thereafter is shall take effect and be in force.
