HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #75 ORDINANCE NO. 75 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, DECLARING THE ACT OF CARRYING CONCEALED WEAPONS TO BE UNLAWFUL, The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, do ordain as follows, Section 1. It is hereby declared to be unlawful for any person, other than a public officer, or person have a permit so to do, to wear or carry concealed on or about his person, any pistol, dirk or other dangerous weapon or deadly weapon, provided however that the ordinary pen knife, pocket knife, or toilet shear are not deemed dangerous or deadly weapons within the provisions of this ordinance, Section 2, Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine in a sum not exceeding Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00), or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding three (3) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court, The City Marshall is hereby authorized to grant a written permit to any peacable person, when in his judgment he may deem it necessary, for such person to to carry concealed weapons for his own protection, Section 3, The City Clerk shall Certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one (1)insertion in the Huntington Beach, News, a weekly newspaper, published and circulated in said city of Huntington Beach, and thereupon and thereafter it shall take effect and be in force, Ed Manning.
