AN ORDINANCE CALLING AND PROVIDING FOR A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION OF THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS IN SAID CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH FOR THE PURPOSE OF VOTING UPON THE FOLLOWING QUESTION,
TO-WIT:
"SHALL W.D. SEELY BE RECALLED FROM THE OFFICE OF TRUSTEE OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH?"
AND PROVIDING FOR THE ELECTION OFFICERS AND POLLING PLACES IN
SAID CITY PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 32 OF THE
STATUTES OF CALIFORNIA, OF THE EXTRA SESSION OF 1911,APPROVED
JANUARY 2, 1912,ENTITLED:
"AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE RECALL OF ELECTIVE OFFICERS OF
INCORPORATED CITIES AND TOWNS."
The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain as follows:
Section 1. It is hereby ordained that a special election be and is hereby called
to be held in the City of Huntington Beach, California,on Monday the 10 day of
November, 1912, and that at such election the following question or proposition shall be
submitted to the qualified electors of the said City of Huntington Beach,to-wit:
"Shall W.D. Seely be recalled from the office of Trustee of the City of Huntington
Beach?"pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 32 of the Statutes of California, of
the Extra Session of 1911,approved January 2, 1912,entitled:
"An act to provide for the recall of elective officers of incorporated cities
and towns."
Section 2. It is further ordained that the official ballot used at such election,
besides the other things required by law, shall contain the following question or
proposition, is substantially the following manner:
"Shall W.D. Seely be recalled from the office of Trustee of the City of Huntington
Beach?"pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 32 of the Statutes of California, of
the Extra Session of 1911,approved January 2, 1912,entitled:
"An act to provide for the recall of elective officers of incorporated cities and
towns."

If an elector shall,at said election stamp a cross(x)in the voting square after the
word"Yes"his vote shall be counted in favor of the question or proposition: of he shall
have stamped a cross(x)after the printed work"No"his vote shall be counted against the
said question or proposition.
The said ballot shall be in other respects in accordance with the general election
laws of the State of California so far as the general election laws apply to municipal
corporations.
Section 3. It is further ordained that the said special municipal election shall
be held in accordance with the election laws of the State of California in so fas as the said
election laws are applicable to municipal elections in cities of the sixth class,except has
hereinbefore specifically set forth.
The polling places must be open at six(6)oclock in the morning of the day of the
election and must be kept open untill six(6)oclock of the afternoon of the same day
when the polls shall be closed.
Section 4. It is further ordained that the following qualified electors of the
City of Huntington Beach are hereby designated and appointed as election officers for the
offices set opposite their names at such election,and that the polling place at such
election is hereby designated to be as follows,to-wit:
Inspectors, L P. Whitney and John L. Gale.
Judges A Shrosbree and Joe Damron
Clerks C.H. Howard and Geo. W. Wardwell
Polling Place, City Hall of the City of Huntington Beach, California.
Section 5. It is further ordained that each and every member of such election
board shall receive as compensation for his services on such board the sum of$5.00.
Section 6. The City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach shall certify to the
passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the
"Huntington Beach News"a weekly news paper published and circulated in the said City
of Huntington Beach and thirty(30)days thereafter it shall take effect and be in full
force.

Ayes, Helme,Rosenburger,Manning,French, Seely.
Noes, None.
Absent. None.

to-wit:
"Shall W.D. Seely be recalled from the office of Trustee of the City of Huntington
Beach?"
and providing for the election officers and polling places in said city pursuant to
the provisions of Chapter 32 of the Statutes of California of the Extra Session of 1911,
approved January 2, 1912, entitled:

towns,"
and that the same was published once in the Huntington Beach News,a weekly
newspaper,printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach according to law,on
the 18"'day of October 1912
