AN ORDINANCE CALLING AND PROVIDING FOR THE GENERAL BI-ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, FOR THE YEAR 1912, AND APPOINTING AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF ELECTION, AND FIXING THE POLLING PLACE FOR THE SAID ELECTION. The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, do ordain as follows; Section 1, A general municipal election is hereby called to be held in the City of Huntington Beach, California, on the second Monday of April, 1912, for the purpose of electing three members of the Board of Trustees, for four year terms and a clerk and a treasurer for two year terms, and for the purpose of voting upon any proposition that may be lawfully submitted to the electors of said City at that time. Section 2,: No Primary elections shall be held for nomination for said officer owing to the provision of Section 2 of the State Primary Law, but nomination for said officer may be made under Section 1188, of the, Political Code of the State of California, or in any other lawful manner. Section 3, There shall be but one voting precinct in the said City, the boundaries of which shall be coincident with the boundaries of the City of Huntington Beach. Section 4, The polling place for the said election is hereby fixed in and at and designated to be held in and at the City Hall of the City of Huntington Beach, California. Section 5, The officers of said Election who shall be known as the Board of Election, are hereby appointed and declared to be as follows: Judges: Sam Ferguson Republican, and R.E. Linden Democrat. Inspectors: Andrew Gilliron, Republican and Joe Damron, Democrat. Clerks: H.T. Sundbye Republican and A.W. Griffith, Democrat, Ballot Clerks: M.C. Adams Republican and N. N. Broron, Democrat, Section 6. The members of said Board of Election shall each receive the sum of$7.00 for their services as such member. Section 7, In all particular not recited in this ordinance, the said election shall be held in accordance with the Charter of the City of Huntington Beach, and the Election Laws of the State of California. ORD. 088 1 Section 8. The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach shall canvass the return of the Board of Election, and determine any content, at eight o' clock P.M. on the first Monday next succeeding the date of said election. Section 9. The due publication of this ordinance shall be and constitute notice of said election. Section 10, The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of the ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by two insertions in the"Huntington Beach News" a weekly newspaper printed and published in said City of Huntington Beach and 30 days thereafter it shall take effect and be in force.
