AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE DISCHARGE AND SHOOTING OFF OF
FIREWORKS IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain as follows:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge or shoot off any
fireworks within the following described district and territory which is situated in the
City of Huntington Beach, California,the exterior boundaries of which district are
described as follows,to wit:
Commencing at the intersection of the center lines of Sixth Street and Olive
Avenue, in the City of Huntington Beach, California;running thence Southeasterly alone
the center line of Olive Avenue to the intersection of the center lines of Olive Avenue and
Third Street;running thence Southwesterly until it intersects a line which is one hundred
and twenty(120)feet southwesterly from and parallel to the Southwesterly lines of
Ocean Avenue;thence Northwesterly along said last mentioned line to the point of
intersection of said last mentioned line and the center line of Sixth Street extended
Southwesterly;thence Northwesterly along the center line of Sixth Street to the place of
beginning.
Section 2. The Term"fireworks"as used in this ordinance shall be
understood to mean and include and shall embrace fire cracers,Roman candles,
torpedoes,torpedo canes,blank cartridges, skyrockets and all other explosive substances
of every description.
Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a
fine in a sum not to exceed One Hundred Dollars $(100 00�or by imprisonment for a
term not to exceed thirty (30)days,or by both such fine and imprisonment in the
discretion of the court.
Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the
Huntington Beach News, a weekly news paper published and circulated in said City of
Huntington Beach, and Thirty(30) days thereafter it shall take effect and be in full force.
