HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #260 1 ORDIITANCE INTO. 260, 2 AN ORDIN-A:,,TCE of the City of Huntington Beach, Amending Ordinance No. 209 of said City of 3 Huntington Beach entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Huntington Beach, establishing a 4 business and residence district in said City and prohibiting the establishment or maintenance 5 of certain businesses and industries in said. 6 Districts"., 7 8 The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain as follows : 9 10 Section I. That Ordinance No. 209 of said CitY of 11 Huntington Beach, entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Huntington 12 Beach, establishing a business and residence district in said City 13 and prohibiting the establishment or, maintenance of certain busines - 14 es and industries in said Districts", be and the same is hereby 15 amended by the addition thereto and insertion therein of a new 16 section to be known as Section II 2, which section is inserted in 17 said Ordinance at the end of Section II, which Section shall read 18 as follows: 19 Section II ?. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, 20 or corporation to erect , establish, carry on or maintain, within th 21 residence district , described in Section I hereof, any cement yard 22 or warehouse, cement loading, distributing or receiving station, 23 gasoline or gas absorption plant, dehydrating plant, oil refinery 24 or oil storage tank or pumping station or tank manufacturing estab-I 25 lishrrient or sheet metal wort; or machine or forge shop, oil well 26 machinery; or equipment, loading, receiving or distributing station 27 or oil well supply house or establishment, automobile wrecking est 28 ablisImnent, junk yard _or establishment, second hand store or estab1 lishnient or the business of conducting, maintaining or carrying on 29 g, � Y g 30 any warehouse, storage house or public auto garage or repair es- 31 tablishment and any private auto garage or yard used in connection 32 Blodget & Blodget a Attorneys-at-Law Huntington Beach, ` California I 12 t 0 1 with trucking, transfer, hauling or express business, shall for th 2 purpose of this Ordinance be deemed to be a public automobile 3 garage, any chicken ranch or stock yard, and any person keeping 4 or maintaining fifty or more chickens, geese or ducks, shall for 5 the purpose of this Ordinance be deemed to be conducting, ' ma.in- 6 taining and carrying on the business of a chicken ranch and any 7 person, firm or corporation keeping or maintaining more than two 8 head of horses, cows or goats shall for the purpose of this 9 Ordinance be deemed to be conducting, .maintaining and carrying on 10 the business of a stock yard, 11 Section II. if any section, sub-section, sentence, 12 clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance, is for any reason. held 13 to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not effect the validit 14 of any other portion of this act. . The Board of Trustees of the :15 I City of Huntington_ Beach, :ereby declares that it would have pas.se� ,16 this Ordinance and each section, sub-section, sentence, clause, 17 phrase or word thereof, irrespective of the fact. that any(one� ors l 18 more sections, sub-sections, sentences, clauses, phrases or words, 19 be declared unconstitutional. 20 Section 1$1.
