AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 209 OF SAID CITY, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE
• OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISH-
ING A BUSINESS AND RESIDENCE DISTRICT IN SAID CITY AND
PROHIBITING THE ESTABLISHMENT OR MAINTENANCE OF CERTAIN
BUSINESSES AND INDUSTRIES' .IN SAID DISTRICTS`'
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 209 of said City,
as amended, entitled "An Ordinance of the City. of Huntington Beach,
California, establishing a business and .residenbe. district in said
City and prohibiting the establishment or maintenance of certain busi-
nesses and industries in said districts" be, and the same is hereby
amended so as to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. All that portion of the City of Huntington Beach
within the following described boundaries is hereby established ands-\
declared to be Business District No. 1 of said City, to-wit:
"Beginning at the point of intersection of the center line of
First Street projected with the Pacific Ocean and running thence- North-
easterly to the intersection of the said center line of•First Street
with the Southwesterly line projected of the .first alley Northeasterly
from Ocean Avenue, thence Northwesterly along said last mentioned line
to its intersection with the Northwesterly line produced of the first
alley Southeasterly from Third Street; thence Northeasterly along the
last mentioned line to its intersection with the Southwesterly line
of Olive Avenue; thence Northwesterly along the Southwesterly line of
\ Olive Avenue to its 'intersection with the Southeasterly line of the
first alley Northwesterly from Third Street; thence Northeasterl-p and,
Northerly a4ong_ the last mentioned alley line to its intersection with
the South line of Acacia Avenue; thence Westerly and Northwesterly
along said last mentioned line to .its intersection with the Soiithwester-
ly -line of -sixth Street; thence Southwesterly along said last mentioned.

thence Southeasterly along said last mentioned line to its intersection
with the Southeasterly line of the first alley Northwesterly from Fifth
Street produced Northeasterly; thence Southwesterly along the last men-
tioned alley line produced to its intersection with the Southwesterly
line of the first alley Northeasterly from Ocean Avenue; thence North-
westerly along the last mentioned line to its intersecti'on with the .
center line of Sixth Street; thence Southwesterly along the center line
of Sixth Street to its intersection with center line of Ocean Avenue;
thence Northwesterly along said.. center line to its intersection with
center line of Ninth Street; . thence Southwesterly along a prolongation
of center line of Ninth Street a distance of approximately three (3)
miles into the Pacific Ocean to the• Southwesterly boundary line of -the
City of Huntington Beach; thence Southeasterly along said boundary line
to the point where said boundary line intersects the center line of First
Street projected Southwesterly into the Pacific Ocean; thence North-
easterly along said projected center line of First Street to. the point
of beginning. "
.~SECTION 2. The` City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the sate to be published by one insertion in
the Huntington Beach News , a weekly newspaper printed, published and
circulated in said City of Huntington Beach, and thirty days thereafter
it shall take effect and' be in for .
