OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON ' BEACH, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES INCON- SISTENT HMMVITH" The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 322 entitled "An ordinance of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach relating to and regulating traffic upon- the. public streets of the City of Huntington Beach, and re- pealing all ordinances inconsistent herewith" be, and the same is hereby amended by the addition thereto- and insertion therein in Article 4 there- of at the end. of Section 19, of two .new sections to be numbered Section 19(a) and Seetion. 19(b) respectively, which said sections shall be in words and figures as follows, to-wit: i SECTION 19(a) U turns: The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach may by resolution designate any intersection of public highways at which intersection no U turn or turn in a complete circle may be made, i and upon the posting of signs indicating the fact that no U turn is per- mitted in such intersection it shall be unlawful for the operator of any j vehicle to turn said vehicle in a complete circle or so as to proceed in the opposite direction, or to make a U turn:at said intersection. SECTION 19(b) The City Council is hereby authorized to establish over an appropriate street or streets and to designate .by proper signs, through traffic routes for the movement of vahicles of two (2) or more i tonst capacity designed for carrying merchandise, freight or material. When any such through traffic route or routes are established and des- ignated • ignated by d:�ip o.priate'signs, the operator of any vehicle mentioned in I this paragraph shall drive on such route or routes and none other, ex- cept when it is impracticable to do so, or when necessary to traverse u _ . - 1 J another street or streets to an intersection for the purpose of load- ing or unloading, but then only by. such deviation from the nearest freight route as is reasonably necessary. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be -published by one in- sertion in- the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper printed, pub- lished and eirculated 'in said City of Huntington Beach, and thirty (30) da-ys thereafter it shall take effect and be in force.
