1 ORDINANCE NO. 337 �
2 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT ORDINANCE NO. 332, j
OF SAID CITY HAS FAILED OF ADOPTION
3 BY REASON OF PUBLIC REFERENDUM

5" WHEREAS Ordinance No. 332 of the City of Huntington Beach
6 entitled "An Ordinance 'of the City of Huntington Beach amending
7 Ordinance N 224 of the City of H ; c

8 Ordinance of the City of Huntington Beach providing for the ,
9 licensing of the business of maintaining, conducting and
10 operating of oil wells and derricks within said City for the
11 purpose of revenue and regulation' as amended" was passed
12 and adopted by the City Council of the City of Huntington
13 Beach on the 4th day of June , 1930, and
14 WHEREAS within thirty days thereafter a Petition signed
15 by not less than 10% of the electors of the City of Huntington
l
16 Beach ;protesting against the passage of such Ordinance was
17 presented to the legislative body, and
18 WHEREAS the said Ordinance was thereupon suspended from

19 going into operation, and
20 WHEREAS the legislative body of said City immediately
, I
21 proceeded to reconsider such Ordinance ,
22 NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the
23 -City of Huntington Beach:
241 S ection 1. That said Ordinance No. 332 entitled "An
25 Ordinance of the City of Huntington Beach amending Ordinance

26 No: 224 of the City of Huntington Beach entitled ' An Ordinance
27 of the City of Huntington Beach providing for the licensing of j
28 the business of maintaining, conducting and operating of oil
29 wells and derricks within said city for the purpose of revenue
30 and regulation' as amended" , which was adapted as above set j
31 forth and against which a protest has been filed under the
32 provision of the act of Legislature of the State of California

1 entitled "An act to provide for direct legislation by cities
2 and towns including initiative and referendum,las amended, be

3 and the same is hereby repealed and made null and void ab initio II
j 4 to the same effect as though said Ordinance had never been
a
5 adopted.
6 Section 2'. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
7 of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by
I
8 one insertion in the Huntington Beach News , a weekly newspaper
9 printed, published and circulated in said City of Huntington
I
10 Beach, and thirty days thereafter it shall take- effect and be
11 in force.
