AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH A1,1ENDING ORDINANCE NO. 18.9 OF SAID CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING THE OFFICE OF POUNDMASTER AND DEFINING HIS DUTIES, MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO PERMIT CERTAIN ANIMALS TO RUN AT LARGE AND PROVIDING FOR IM- POUNDING FEES, DOG LICENSES AND FEES THEREFOR. " The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach do j ordain as follows: Section 1. That Section 9 of Ordinance No. 189 of the City of Huntington Beach entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Huntington Beach Establishing the Office of Pound— master and Defining his Duties, Making it Unlawful to Permit Certain Animals to Run at Large and Providing for Impounding Fees, Dog Licenses and Fees Therefor" shall be and is hereby amended so as to read as follows: "Section 9. It shall be unlawful for any person, owning or having charge, care or control of any dog, to have or to keep the same within the City of Huntington Beach, and no dog shall be permitted to be or remain within said City, unless there shall be attached. to such dog a collar on which there shall be a metal tag, obtained from the City Tax and License Collector of said City, as hereinafter provided, and inscribed as hereinafter provided. The said City Tax and. License Collector is hereby authorized and directed to procure each year, prior to the first day of April, such number of tags as may be sufficient for use during the year, with the year plainly inscribed thereon. Said tags shall be effective until the 31st day of March of the year next ensuing,- and no longer. Said Tax and License Collector shall furnish tags to the owners or persons �J 4 i _ 2 having charge, care or control thereof, applying therefor prior to August lst of the year for which such tag is issued or within four (4) calendar months of the time when the dog for which application is made was acquired by the applicant, for the sum of ONE ($1.00) DOLLAR for each dog. If application is made after August lst of the year for which such tag is issued, and more than four (4) calendar months after the dog for which application is made was acquired by the applicant, the fee therefor shall be increased fifty (50�lfl cents; pro- vided, that if application -is made for a dog which has been brought into the City of Huntington Beach after October lst of the year for which such tag is issued, the fee therefor shall be one-half of the regular fee as herein provided. The City Tax and License Collector shall keep a register, wherein shall be kept the name of the owner to whom tag has been issued and • i the number and date thereof. Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the pas- sage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly news- paper .printed, published and circulated in said City of Hunt- ington Beach, and thirty (30) days thereafter the same shall take effect and be in force. �w✓ Passed and adopted this ¢�"8ay of , 1934.
