ORDINANCE NO. :529
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION FIFTEEN AND TWENTY
OF ORDINANCE NO. 150 OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH, ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH PROVIDING FOR THE ASSESSMENT
AND COLLECTION OF' CITY TAXES" , AS AMENDED.
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach,
California does ordain as follows:
Section 1: That Section Fifteen of Ordinance No. 150
of said City entitled, "An Ordinance of the City of Huntington
Beach providing for the Assessment and Collection of City Taxes"
is hereby amended to read as follows:

- Section 15: The City Council shall meet at 7:30 P.M. on
,of
the second Monday of July/each year, and sit as a Board of Equalization,
and shall continue in session from day to day until all the returns
of the assessor have been rectified. The City Clerk shall be the
Clerk of the Board of Equalization.
Section 2: That Section Twenty of Ordinance No. 150 of
said City entitled, "An Ordinance of the City of Huntington Beach,
Providing for the Assessment and Collection of City Taxes, " is
hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 20: The Clerk of the Board must record in a book
to be kept for that purpose, all changes, corrections and orders made
by the Board, and during its sessions or as soon as possible after
its adjournment, must enter upon the assessment roll all changes and
corrections made by the Board, and on or before the first Monday of
August must deliver the assessment roll, so corrected, to the City
Council and accompany the same with an affidavit thereto affixed,
subscribed and sworn to by him as follows:

Clerk of the Board of Equalization of the City of Huntington Beach,
I have kept correct minutes of all the acts of said Board touching
alterations in the assessment roll;- that all alterations agreed to,
or directed to be made, have been made and-entered in said roll and

that no changes or alterations have been made therein except
those authorized by said Board."
The City Council shall on the first Monday in August of
each year fix the levy or rate per cent of taxes levied for all
municipal purposes for that fiscal year, designating the number
of cents on each one hundred dollars of property levied for each
fund, not to exceed, in the aggregate, the limits fixed by law.
Section 3: The City Clerk . shall certify to the passage
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one
insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper printed,
published and circulated in said City of Huntington Beach, and
thirty (30) days after the date of its passage, it shall take
effect and be in force.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at its regularly adjourned meeting held on the
21st day of June, 1937•

City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, do hereby
certify that the above and foregoing Ordinance was introduced and
read at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 7th day
of June, 1937, and was again read to said City Council on the
21st day of June, 1937, at a regularly adjourned meeting of said City
Council, and that said Ordinance was adopted by the following vote:
AYESZ Councilmen: Morehouse, Chamness, Talbert, Henrickson, Warner.
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: None.
