ORDINANCE NO. 540
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
HUNT INGT ON BEACH, CALIFORNIA,
GRANTING A CONDITIONAL EXCEP-
TION.
WHEREAS , the Planning Commission of the City of
Huntington Beach, California , of its own motion instituted
proceedings for the purpose of granting to the Southern
California Edison Company, a conditional exception
to permit the said company to construct and operate a
yard and building for the storage of materials on
Block 804, of Wesley Park Section of Huntington Beach,
as per map thereof recorded in Book 4, page 17 of
Miscellaneous Maps , Records of Orange County, Calif-
ornia, on the 15th day of April, 1947, and
WHEREAS , on May 6, 1947 a hearing was duly and
regularly held before the Planning Commission for said
purpose and the Planning Commission recommended to the
City Council that it grant the conditional exception, and
WHEREAS , the City Council on the 2nd day of June,
1947 approved the action of the Planning Commission
but no conditions or restrictions were placed upon said

grant.

NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California , do ordain as follows:
Section 1: That the City Council do hereby find,
determine and declare that said hearing by the Planning
Commission was in all respects held in accordance with
law.
Section 2: That the City Council does hereby
confirm its previous action in approving said conditional
exception, and does hereby grant to the Southern California
Edison Company a conditional exception for the purpose
of constructing and operating a yard for the storage
of material, and building, incidental thereto on the
South 400 feet of Block 804, Wesley Park Section of
Huntington Beach, as per map thereof, recorded in Book
4, page 17 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange,
County, California, upon the following express con-
ditions:
That said property shall be surrounded with a fence
not less than six feet in height, and that they will
cause shrubs and vines to be grown around said property
in order that the material in said yard will be hid from
public view.
Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause
the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington

Beach News, a weekly newspaper, printed , published and
circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, California,
and thirty days after the adoption thereof the same shall
take effect and be in force .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, this 21st day of

of members of the City Council .of the City of Huntington
Beach is five, that the foregoing Ordinance was first read
ad ourned
to said City Council at a regular7meeting thereof held
on the 9th day of February , 1949, and was again read
to said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 21st day of February , 1949, and was passed and
adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a majority
of all the members of said City Council as follows:
