` AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF HUNT INGTON BEACH,
CALIFORNIA, ANNEXING CERTAIN
UNINHABITED AND CONTIGUOUS
TERRITORY TO SAID CITY.
WHEREAS:, the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, did by unanimous vote on
the 7th day of February, 1949, at a regular meeting of
said body, regularly and duly adopted Resolution No. 1076
entitled, "A Resolution of the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, Proposing to Annex Certain
Uninhabited and Contiguous Territory to said City, Declar-
ing that said Proceedings have been Initiated of its own
Motion; Giving Reasons Therefor; Giving Notice of a Hear-
ing of said Proposed Annexation," and
WHEREAS , the territory described* in said Resolution
is uninhabited territory, and
WHEREAS , the proceedings initiated by said Resolution
were initiated by the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach of its own motion and said Resolution did so declare,
and

WHEREAS, the -territory described in said Resolution
was not at the time of adoption of said Resolution nor
since then a part of any municipal corporation, and
WHEREAS, the City blerk of the City of Huntington
Beach did cause a copy of said Resolution to be published
at least once a week for two successive weeks prior to
the hearing therein provided for, in the Huntington Beach
News, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and
published in the City of Huntington Beach, to wit: on
February 17, 1949 and February 24, 1949, and
WHEREAS , said Resolution contained a notice that on
the 7th day of March, 1949 at the hour of 7:30 P M in
the City Council Chambers at the City Hall was the time
and place when and where any person owning real property
within said territory proposed to be annexed and having
any objections to said proposed annexation may appear before
said City Council and show cause why such territory should
not be so annexed, and
WHEREAS , no protest was made by the owner or owners
of the property hereinafter described, and set forth in
said Resolution, and no one made any protest whatever.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Huntington. Beach, California, do ordain as follows:

Section 1: That the City Council does hereby findi
determine and declare that the facts and each of them
set forth in the preamble hereto are true and correct.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, being the legislative body
of said City, does hereby approve of said annexation
and that the boundaries of said City of Huntington Beach
are hereby altered and the said territory is hereby
annexed to, and incorporated and included within the
City of Huntington Beach, California.
Said property so annexed is hereby described as
follows:
A piece or parcel of land lying and being in
Sections 13 and 24, Township 6 South, Range 11 West,
S B B & M. , and Section 19, Township •6 South, Range 10
West, S B B & M. , situate in the County of Orange,
State of California, described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Southwest
quarter of said Section .13; thence South along the West
line of said Southwest quarter to a point which is
3215.49 feet South of the Northwest corner of said
Section 13; thence Easterly on a line to the Northwest
corner of the South one-half of the Northwest quarter
of the Southeast quarter of said Section 13; thence
East along the North boundary line of the South one-half

of the Northwest quarter of the Southeast quarter of
said Section 13 to . the Northeast corner thereof; thence
South along the East boundary line of the said South one-
half of the Northwest quarter of the Southeast quarter
to the Northeast corner of the Southwest quarter of the
Southeast quarter of said Section 13; thence South along
the East boundary line of the Southwest quarter of the
Southeast quarter of said Section to the South line of
said Section 13; thence West. along the South boundary
line of said Section 13 to the Southwest corner of the
Southeast quarter of. said Section. 13;- thence North along
the West boundary line of the Southeast quarter of said
Section 13 to a point on said line, 30.08 feet South of
the Northwest corner of the South one-half of the North-
west quarter of the Southeast quarter of said Section 13;
thence Westerly on a line to a point on the West boundary
line of said Section 13, which point' is - 3245.57 feet '
South of the Northwest corner of said Section 13; thence
. S'outh along the West line of said Section to its inter-
section with the Southwesterly line of the land described
in the deed to Pacific Electric Land.Company recorded
December 20th, 1905 in Book 123, page 91 of Deeds ; thence
Southeasterly along said Southwesterly line, and along
the Southwesterly line of the land described in the deed
to Pacific Electric Land Company recorded December 20th,
1905 in Book 123, page 87 of Deeds, to the Northwesterly

line of the Santa Ana Outfall Sewer Right of Way as con-
veyed to the City of Santa Ana by deed dated January 25,,
1934 executed by Pacific Electric Railway Company, record-
ed April 14, 1934 in Book 668, page 159 of Official Records
of said Orange County; thence Northeasterly along the North-
westerly line of said Santa Ana Outfall Sewer Right of Way
as conveyed to the City of Santa Ana by certain deeds of
record in the Office of the County Recorder of Orange
County, California: Deed dated January 25, 1934 executed
by Pacific Electric Railway Company, recorded April 14, 1934
in Book 668, page 159 of Official Records of said Orange
County; deed dated January 25, 1934 executed by Pacific
Electric Railway Company, et al, recorded April 14, 1934
in Book 667, page 171 of Official Records of said Orange
County, and the Northeasterly extension of the Westerly
line thereof; deed dated August 8, 1924 executed by A. C.
Thorpe, et al, recorded August 20, 1924 in Book 538, page
47 of Deeds, records of said Orange County; and deed dated
February 5, 1934 executed by Townsend Land Company, recorded
April 14, 1934 in Book; 670, page 147 of Official Records of
said Orange County, to its, intersection with the North line
of Section 19, Township 6 South, Range 10 West, S B B & M. ,
said Northwesterly line of the Santa Ana Outfall Sewer Right
of Way being also described as the Northwesterly line of that
certain right of way described in the order of possession
entitled "Order" , made and entered November 21, 1922 in the
Superior Court of the State of California in and for the

County of Orange, in that certain action entitled 'The City
of Santa Ana vs J. N. Hearn, et al, Y being case No. 13753
in said Court; thence West along the North line of said
Section 19 to the Northwest corner of said Section, 19;
thence North along the East line of Section 13, Township
6 South, Range 11 West, S B B & M. , to the Northeast corner
of the Southeast quarter of said Section 13; thence West
along the North line of the Southeast quarter of said
Section 13 and the North line of the Southwest quarter of
said Section 13 to the point of beginning.
Section 340 The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to �
be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News ,
a weekly newspaper, printed, published and circulated in
the City of Huntington Beach, Orange County, California,
and thirty days after the adoption hereof the same shall
take effect and be in force.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 6th day of .June- , 1949.

adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a majority
