AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH,
CALIFORNIA , ESTABLISHING A BEACH
AND PIER DEPARTMENT .
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
do ordain as follows :
Section 1: That there is hereby established and
created in the City of Huntington Beach a department
to be known as the Beach and Pier Department .
Section 2: The office of Manager of the Beach and
Pier Department is hereby created. The Manager of the
Beach and Pier Department shall have the following duties :
(a) Management and control of the Trailer Park and
general supervision of cleaning of restrooms located on
the beach and the pier , and such other duties as the

City Council may from time to time delegate to him.
(b) The Beach and Pier Manager shall , with the
advice and consent of the City .Council, appoint such
clerical assistants and employees as may be necessary
to carry on the business of the department .
Section 3: The salary of the Trailer Park Manager
shall be established under Range 29 of the schedule of
the Basic Salary Range and shall begin at Step A of said
range.

Section 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause
the same to be published by one insertion in the Hunting-
ton Beach News , a .weekly newspaper, printed, published
and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, Calif-
ornia, and thirty (30) days after the adoption hereof
the same shall take effect and be in force .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California , this 2nd day of
May 1 1949.

and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and
ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City of
Huntington Beach, do hereby certify that the whole number
of members of the 'City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach is five , that the foregoing Ordinance was first
adjourned
read to said City Council at a regular/meeting thereof
held on the 25th day of April , 1949, and was again
read to said City Council at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 2nd day of May 1949, and was
passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than
a majority of all members of said City Council as follows :
