AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AN AMEND—
MENT TO THE CONTRACT PROVIDING FOR THE
PARTICIPATION OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH IN THE CALIFOR4IA STATE EMPLOYEES°
RETIREMENT SYSTEM, MAKING ITS EMPLOYEES
MEMBERS OF SAID SYSTEM.
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, do ordain as follows:
Section 1: That an amendment to the contract pro-
viding for the participation of the City of Huntington
Beach in the State Employees' Retirement System, is
hereby authorized between the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach, California, and the Board
of Administration, California State Employees' Retire—
ment System, a copy of said amendment being attached
hereto, marked "Exhibit All, and by such reference :wade
a part hereof as though herein set out in full.
Section 2: The Mayor of the City of Huntington
Beach is hereby authorized, < ,empowered, and directed to
execute said amendment for and on behalf of said City.
Section 3: This Ordinance shall take effect from
and after January 1, 1950, and prior to the expiration
of fourteen days from the passage thereof shall be
published at least once in the Huntington Beach News,

a newspaper of general circulation, published and
circulated in the City. of Huntington Beach, and thence-
forth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, this 7th day of
November 1949.

I, JOHN L. HENRICKSEN, the duly elected, qualified
and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and
ex®officio Clerk of the City Council of said City of
Huntington Beach, do hereby certify that the whole number
of members of the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach is five, that the foregoing Ordinance was first
read to said City Council at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 17th day of October, 1949, and was again read
to said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held

on the 7th day of November, 1949, and was passed and
adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a majority
of all members of said City Council as follows:
