HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #567 ORDINANCE N0. 567 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA , ELECTING TO HAVE CITY TAXES ASSESSED, EQUALIZED AND COLLECTED BY THE COUNTY OF ORANGE. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, do ordain as follows: Section 1: The City of Huntington Beach does hereby elect that the duties of the assessment of city property for city taxes , the equalization and correction of the assessment , the collection, payment and enforcement of the taxes, in- cluding delinquent taxes , and the redemption of property from sale or other penalty .f or the non-payment of city taxes, now provided by law to be assessed by the Assessor and collected by the Tax Collector and equalized by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, shall be performed by the County Assessor, the County Tax Collector, the County Auditor and the Board of Supervisors of Orange County when acting as a board of equalization. Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, except as the same may be necessary for the assessment and collection of taxes pursuant to law by county officials, and except further to enforce the collection of all city taxes assessed by the city which now may be or which may become delinquent. Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the -1- Ord,#567 same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper, printed, published and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, California, and thirty days after the adoption hereof the same shall take effect and be in force, PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, this loth day of November 9 1950.
