HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #573 1 ORDINANCE NO. 5?3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA) AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 322 OF SAID CITY, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH RELATING TO AND REGULATING TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH," AS AMENDED. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, does ordain as follows: Section 1: That a new section is hereby added to Ordinance No. 322, the same to be known as Section 23f, and to be inserted immediately after Section 23e, the same to read as follows: Section 23f: That in_ addition to those certain 1 street intersections as set forth,'in Sections 23, 23b, 23c7 23d and 23e hereof, the following streets are hereby desig- nated as "Stop" intersections: LAKE AVENUE AND ELEVENTH STREET All vehicles entering or crossing said intersection from Lake Avenue are required to stop at the entrance thereof, provided said entrance is clearly marked or signs posted as required by the Vehicle Code of the State of California. This Ordinance shall not be construed to repeal Sections 23, 23b, 23c, 23d and 23e of said Ordinance, but shall be construed as an addition and supplement thereto. The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and direc- ted to place and maintain a stop sign at or near the entrance -1- of the intersection where said stop is required, and said stop sign shall comply with the provision of said Vehicle Code of the State of California. Section 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, California; and thirty (30) days after the adoption hereof the same shall take effect and be in force.
