ORDINANCE NO. 576
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH, CALIFORNIA , AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 322 OF SAID CITY,, ENTITLED "AN
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH RELATING TO
AND REGULATING TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC
STREETS OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES, INCONSISTENT
HEREWITH,," AS AMENDED.

The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, do ordain as follows:
Section 1: That a new section is hereby added to
Ordinance No. 322, the same to be known as Section 239, and
to be inserted immediately after Section 23f, the same to
read as follows:
Section 239: That in addition to those certain
street intersections as set forth in Sections 23, 23b, 23c ,
23d, 23e and 23f hereof, the following streets are hereby
designated as "Stop" intersections:
HUNTINGTON AVENUE AND ATLANTA STREET
All vehicles entering or crossing said intersection
from the North on Huntington Avenue are required to stop at
the entrance thereof, provided said entrance is clearly marked
or signs posted as required by the Vehicle Code of the State
of California.
This ordinance shall not be con:trued to. repeal
Sections 23 , 23b, 23c, 23d, 23e and 23f of said ordinance,
but shall be construed as an addition and supplement thereto.
The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and

directed to place and maintain a stop sign at or near the
entrance of the intersection where said. stop is required, and
said stop sign shall comply with the provisions of said Vehicle
Code of the State of California.
Section 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the
same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach
News, a weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in
the City of Huntington Beach, California; and thirty days after
the adoption hereof the same shall take effect and be in force.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, this 4t�h day of SepUnber

and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five ; that the foregoing
ordinance was first read to said City Council at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 20th day of August , 1951,
and was again read to said City Council at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 4th day of September , 1951 and
was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a
majority, of all the .members of said City Council as follows:
