ORDINANCE NO. 605
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
RELATING TO SALARIES AND COMPENSATION OF
ELECTIVE OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH, REPEALING SECTIONS 14441 1444.19 1446;
AMENDING SECTIONS 14411 14427 14437 14457 1447
OF THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE.

The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach do
ordain as follows:
Section 1: That Sections 1441, 14429 1443 , 1445 and
1447 of the "Huntington Beach Ordinance Code are hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 1441. Officers' Basic Salary Schedule: Council
to set Salaries. The Council' by resolution, shall set the
salary or compensation of the various officers of the city
in one of the brackets set forth in the following basic
salary schedule: A B C D E
Section 1442. City Clerk. .-. . . .$125. $250 $300 $375 $450
Section 1443. Treasurer. . . . . ...$195 $235 $275 $315 $350
Section 1445. .. City Attorney. . .$200 $275 $350 $1+25 $500
Section 1447. Chief of Police.$240 $330 $420 $510 $580

Section 2: That Sections 1444, 1444.1 and 1446 of the
Huntington Beach Ordinance Code are hereby repealed.
Section 3: Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed
to increase or diminish the salary of any elective official
during the present term of. office.

Section 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the - same to
be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News
a weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in the
City of Huntington Beach, Orange County, California, and
thirty (30) days after the adoption thereof the same shall
take effect and. be in force.

I, JOHN L. HENRICKSEN, the duly elected, qualified
and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach,- and
ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing
ordinance was first read to said City Council at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 4th day of January , 1954,
and was again read to said City Council at a regular meeting
thereof held on the llth day of January , 1954, and was
passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a
majority of all the members of said City Council as follows:
