HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #608 ORDINANCE N0. 608 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH RELATING TO PROHIBITED ACTS ON THE MUNICIPAL PIER, AMENDING BECTION 7629 OF THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE AND ADDING A NEW SECTION 7629.1 THERETO. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California l do ordain as follows: Section 1: That Section 7629 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 7629. Diving or Jumping from the Pier. Dive or jump off the pier. Section 2: That anew section is hereby added to the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code, designated Section 7629.1 to read as follows: Section 7629.1 Saving of Life and Property. The provisions of Section 7629 shall not apply to a regularly employed lifeguard of the City of Huntington Beach who in an emergency jumps or dives from the pier in order to save life or property. Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper printed, published and cir- -1- Ord. 608 culated in the City of Huntington Beach, Orange. County, California, and thirty (30) days after the adoption thereof the same shall take effect and be in force. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18t day of March 1954.
