HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #630 1 ORDINANCE NO. 630 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE RETIREMENT OF EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, AMENDING SECTION 1505 AND ADDING SECTION 1505.1 TO THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain as follows: Section 1: Section 1505 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1505. Mandatory Retirement. Notwithstanding any other provisions contained in this chapter, all officers and employees of this city, other than elected officers and part time employees as set forth in the following section, are here- by required to retire from service with this city upon reach- ing their 65th birthday. Section 2: That a new section be , and the same is hereby added to the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code, designated Sec- tion 1505.1. Section 1505.1 Age Limit: Part Time Employees. Persons over the age of 65 years may be employed by the City for part / time temporary employment when such employment does not exceed 18 hours in any one calendar week nor exceed employment in more than 14 calendar weeks in any one calendar year. Section 3: That the City Clerk shall certify to the pass- age and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, Orange County, California, and thirty (30) 1.
